Explorers Win, Tucker goes 3-for-3
|
Benny Tucker added some punch to the Whitehorse offense, helping them outmuscle the Sitka Capitals, 10-7. In the game, Tucker, who is tied for 4th in the AL in runs scored with 19, went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Seung-woo Sin, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 10 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Paul Hollett earned the save for Whitehorse, his 2nd of the year.
Claudio Noriega, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a .444 on-base percentage, contributed to the Whitehorse win with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Explorers manager Larry Martin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
With the win over Sitka, the Explorers improved to 12-12.
