Kenai Traders starter Brad Hamilton pitched a strong game against the Cold Bay Eleven at Metros Ballpark, leading the Traders to victory, 4-1. Kenai reliever Ricardo Moreno picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. José Mendoza was saddled with the loss. Mario Luna got credit for the save for Kenai. It was his 2nd of the year.
The Traders got a big at-bat from right fielder Emílio Castro. For the game, Castro was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Kenai a 3-1 lead.
"I believe in our guys," said Kenai skipper Tony Thompson. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The Traders have an impressive 17-7 record.
