West Virginia pitcher Jim Gómez did his part in helping his team beat the UAB Dragons, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gómez went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-2. The win makes West Virginia 27-29.
