The Aguadilla Roadrunners picked up a win at Predators Ballpark, knocking off the Bayamon Predators, 3-1. Starting pitcher Manuel Piñal was an essential part of his team's success. Piñal, now 3-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Gilberto Gonzáles closed the game out for Aguadilla, earning his 2nd save.
Manuel Carbajal, the 29-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Carbajal contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Aguadilla up, 3-0.
Afterward, Roadrunners manager Reynaldo Costello was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The win puts Aguadilla at 5-4.
