Kentucky Beats New Orleans, 5-2
|
Not everyone stuck through the 38-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Kentucky Thoroughbreds topped the New Orleans Trendsetters, 5-2, in Imperial League action at Raceway Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kentucky center fielder Pedro Bermúdez. Matt Brown earned the save for Kentucky, his 3rd of the year.
Early in the game, first baseman Yataro Takaki had a 2-run home run for Kentucky. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Thoroughbreds on top, 2-0.
"We'll savor this win," Takaki told the Kentucky Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
The win gives Kentucky a record of 4-3.
