7/31/2011: Tokyo, Japan – The announcement of the All-Star game for the League of the Rising Sun came today and the Shin Seiki Evas have edged out the Niihama-shi Ghosts by a single game to host the annual event.  With no margin of error the Evas went 7-1 in their last eight games to stay on top of the Shining Star Group.  The first pitch of the game will be thrown at 7:05pm on August 3^rd.

Hometown players 1B Ton Nakamura and SP Tsumemasa Abe were tied with 37 votes to lead the Shining Star group.  Abe’s 11-1 record and 2.43 ERA has been nothing short of dominant as many players shudder at the thought of facing him.  Nakamura, on the other hand, makes opposing pitchers sweat with each pitch thrown to the Shin Seiki slugger who has a .321 AVG, 20 HR and 70 RBI.

A breakout season by the Lupin Cliff Hangers' 2B José Aguilar has him at the top of the Bright Blade group with 37 votes.  Aguilar has eclipsed his career RBI total by 13, bringing him to 65 in just the first half of the season.  His stat line so far is a blistering .330 AVG with 65 RBI and 19 HR.

The 2011 LRS All-Star game will be a star studded event with both sides loaded with talent and personality.  The league’s best hitters will have their jobs cut out for them as both sides have a dominant staff composed of the best pitchers each group has to offer.  The offense may have an advantage at this year’s event as the designated hitter rule will be in effect due to the game being played in a Shining Star Group ballpark.  The game should be quite a thriller.
