2016 World Series
HOW ABOUT THEM CUBBIES!
I know there are fans on both sides of the World Series fence here.
Indians punched their ticket against my beloved Jays.... and the Cubs got in tonight.
Predictions?

Here in the State Hospital, sentiment favors the Cubs finally ending the Curse of the Goat.
(But the folks here have been known to be wrong about one or two things.)

Getting my rest in tonight and tomorrow in preparation for the intensity and hopefully (for fellow tribe fans) a championship!

I'm glad this post percolated up again. Given PEBA's Ohio roots I was somewhat alarmed at the lack of love for the Indians when they made it. Those old Ohio guys must be still working their way through the Cavs bubbly.

We have learned to keep quiet due to the overwhelming Cubs bias that permeates everyone and everything.

I've been holding my tongue out of respect for the many Cubs fans in our league, but here we are with Cleveland on the brink of winning it all and, oh my God, does it feel so sweet ...

I know how you all feel - 2010 was so magical, so amazing, the tingle running through the body. I woke up the morning of game 5 with tears in my eyes because I KNEW it was happening. A glorious feeling!!

Re: 2016 World Series
Looks as if we will have a game 7, at the top of the 7th in game 6. I am not as picky about who wins as an exciting series. Coming down to a Game 7 nearly always qualifies as exciting in my mind.
I have headed the opposite direction of the Cardinal herd who hope our rival Cubbies lose. My harmonic resonance with the underdog compels me to hope a team who hasn't won in 108 years is able to satisfy fans who have not seen a championship during their lives.
I had been hoping one of the teams who has never won, Rangers or Nationals, would have a shot. Cleveland vs. Chicago seems a decent second best matchup.
I remember taking some consolation in knowing the Red Sox had ended a 97 year drought at the expense of the Cardinals.

Re: 2016 World Series
It's nice when either team winning is a 'feel good' story. Usually I pick my preference because there is one team I don't want to see win (they've won a bunch, or just have an team attitude I don't agree with) but this year I'd be happy for either team that wins. Okay, maybe a slight edge to the Cubs since it's been so long.... but maybe a slight edge to Cleveland so Minnesota's new President of Baseball Ops can get a ring before he joins the Twins - I'd kinda feel bad for him if he got that close with Cleveland and then missed out. Then again, maybe a slight edge for the Cubs, since I don't want Falvey to be complacent having already won a ring...
Either way it's been an epic series.
Who am I kidding. Too bad OOTP will just overwrite the whole series with a lopsided four game blowout where everyone gets injured.
