The injury bug continues to hammer the Havana outfield with LF Rod Martin going down with a herniated disc in the neck. The same injury that struck down LF Hiroshige Takeda only a couple weeks earlier. CF António Costello was called up from AAA to help paper over the gaps until the starting outfielders can come back from the DL.
The club managed to pick another game in the division race, stretching their lead to 4 games atop the IL Atlantic.
After a 0-10 drubbing on the road at Florida they fought back in the second game of the series losing again 2-3. In the third game SP John Gaines tossed a shutout and the Leones prevailed in a 1-0 game.
After that series a 4 game layoff before starting a 14 game road trip against some solid clubs including Kentucky and Hartford. We’re 0-4 against the Harpoon. That 4 game division lead is looking pretty slim right now.
