Opening Day 2015

#1 Post by Arroyos »

ODE TO OPENING DAY

(with a tip of the hat to G. Chaucer)

When finally April with its sweet showers
Quenches the thirst of greening bowers
And bathes every starving baseball crank
(Who spent his winter learning to wank)
With those glorious, sibilant springtime sounds
Of balls and bats and pitchers on the mounds,
Then do ballists long to go on pilgrimages,
Yea, even to the remotest of the earth's edges,
The holy blissful martyrs of the game to find
That hath rescued them from losing their mind.

Go Tribe. Feels a bit weird to have the Indians on ESPN on Opening Day on purpose. :bang:

Thanks, Michael. You do realize the Giants can't win this year, don't you? They got them Odd Year Blues.

Its time to change that.

5-4 win over Arizona to start defend-the-title-in-the-odd-year mission.

Mad Bum 1 run allowed, new additions played well: Aoki 2 hits 1 run as leadoff hitter, McGehee 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run, Panik still on fire 2 runs on 3 hits and healthy Pagan with 3 hits 1 walk as well.

Looking good at the beginning of the season :bang:

I hope so, he's on my fantasy team!

Very Cleveland-y start to the season for the Indians. Kluber takes a no-hitter into the sixth and they still lose 2-0.

Phillies are going to shock the world this year!

By extending Amaro's contract and hosting the first annual 'Jump Off The Ben Franklin Bridge Family Day' in place of 'Fan Appreciation Day'.

I took Opening Day off and went to see Phils-Red Sox. A glorious day, despite the outcome.

Red Sox great opening day! Best footnote is Buchholtz 7 shutout innings and not on the DL yet!

We always had hints that Sandoval was a slacker. But man, what an ass he really turned out to be. Doesn't want to come back to the Giants because they keep him on conditioning program? Feels disrespected? What a joke. If not for that conditioning program, the fat ass would already be out of baseball.

Let's remember the truth about this guy. He was benched in the 2010 playoffs because he was out of shape. It was that conditioning program that got him that fat contract with the Red Sox. What an ungrateful self centered steaming pile the guy turned out to be.

I've been saying all along, the two worst signings of the entire off-season are the Sandoval signing and the Ramirez signing by the Red Sox. Sandoval will eat his way out of a job in a matter of months, and Ramirez is a clubhouse cancer.
