I'm not going to have time to guess on all the potential arby cases listed here, but I'll take a shot at a few of the big boys:

SP Conan McCullough - $10,963,620
SS George Riley - $10,419,645
RF Jude Pew - $10,703,840

I'll take a whack at guesses on the Hitmen's Ortega and Gonzalez since they are sadly former Calzones

Ortega - had a great season 10.85 mil
Gonzalez - 9.15 mil

Very interesting results! There were some I certainly wasn't expecting - the low McCullough award in particular blew me away. That's part of the learning process, and closely studying the results here will make us better prepared to accurately gauge the awards next time around.

I think anyone who put forth guesses here likely helped themselves learn something about the arbitration process (which is what made this exercise so worthwhile). Therefore, I'm happy to award one bonus CP to everyone who made an arby guess in this thread. It doesn't matter how close you were; you probably learned something anyway, and that's what counts! :-D

Now let's see how I did with my guys...
Borealis - Commissioner wrote:CF Salvador Bernal - CURRENT: $4,085,248 - ARBY GUESS: $5,433,380 - ACTUAL AWARD: $5,781,000
SS Naoaki Kichida - CURRENT: $2,824,860 - ARBY GUESS: $4,484,950 - ACTUAL AWARD: $5,061,600
MR Ángel Lara - CURRENT: $2,206,413 - ARBY GUESS: $2,316,730 - ACTUAL AWARD: $2,368,800
LF Aaron Turner - CURRENT: $380,000 - ARBY GUESS: $2,576,380 - ACTUAL AWARD: $5,675,400
Not too shabby on the first 3. I'd be happier if I had erred slightly on the more expensive side, but I was fairly close on each of them. But that Turner award... oof! I did not see that coming!

We were pleasantly surprised by the awarded salaries, even though some minor leaguers snuck in withou our permission.

Cano - we guessed 4 mil, he received 2.2 mil
Shepherd - we guessed 900k, he remains at ML minimum 380k
Molina - we guessed 4mil, he received 3.5 or 3.8mil
so we guessed 8.9 mil and received 6.3 mil 8)

now to deal with those sneaky minor league guys and the 1.2mil they are trying to steal

this is the one that had me seeing red last night - we gnashed our teeth and wailed and cried and decided we had to part with him because he'd be making so much money and then we find out (a) it doesn't matter, we can't sign or re-sign anyone anyhow; and (b) he had a 3.9 ERA and his arbitration value went down $1.3 million. still had to make the deal for many reasons, but it hurts a bit to see that number.

but congrats...i'm telling you he is now definitely going to be worth well more than every penny.
