Re: "Chasing the Setting Sun" nears publication!
I'm just now catching up on things after a weekend out of town. What a treat to return to the forums and find Ron's book ready for publication! Congratulations, Ron!
I hope to build your readership through a little word of mouth campaign. My recent activities have put me in contact with a number of heavy readers who happen to enjoy baseball. I do believe that Chasing the Setting Sun would be right up their alley, and that it can serve as a gateway to picking up more of Ron Collins's writing. Time to shoot off a few emails ...

Just downloaded it to my Mac, Ron. Looking forward to reading it again.
Oh, and I nominated it for the annual CASEY Award, given by Spitball Magazine for the best baseball book of the year.
Good luck!

The most exciting part of this release? My recommendation blurb was used in Ron's newsletter.
Is there a link for us to nominate Chasing the Setting Sun ourselves, Bob? Or is nomination restricted to certain people?Bulldozers wrote:Just downloaded it to my Mac, Ron. Looking forward to reading it again.

I had pre-ordered so I assume this will now show up on my Kobo .. I have to finish the book I was reading about Bryce Harper and then I'll be on to this!

It's also on the back cover of the print version of the book. :)John wrote:The most exciting part of this release? My recommendation blurb was used in Ron's newsletter.
Actually, I used a different one on each print version. I took the one for StPo25 from one of your OOTP posts, per our PM conversation.

The best way to campaign for it would be to go over to Amazon and Smashwords and B&N and drop reviews of it.Bulldozers wrote:Apparently by invitation only, John. CtSS was #32 in the Amazon top 100 SF&Fantasy/Myth/Asian category last night. I didn't even know there was such a category until last night when I saw it listed there. Reviews, and of course, more sales, move it up. If you do this, just be honest about your views. [grin]

Fun little comment from an Amazon review of "PEBA"
a cross between "vacation" and " major leagues" :)
