I'm confused. Since the 2014 MLB season has just begun, what are these point totals supposed to mean?

It shows the standings as if the season ended on the update date.

I think our points are going to be moving up and down the scale wildly til teams start to settle into their rightful places in the standings.
I really boned it up on the D-Backs and to a lesser degree the Indians so far. And I don't expect my beloved Brewers to be where they are in July. But one can only hope.
