Welcome again Nigel! How many different franchises have you GMed now, counting Hartford? I think you hold the record!

It's nice to see you all again ;-D I do miss my "joined in April 2011" notation but it just felt right to start from scratch "new me, new count" lol. I won't forget my PEBA beginnings though and you'll see plenty of references to them

Well…this is a bit weird. Nick didn’t last long…We will say (from a narrative point of view) that Nick took a step back for family reasons. I will find a way to justify how a baseball team from Texas hired an Italian kid as GM
...and before Nick was GM, San Antonio was run from 2020 to 2025 by Simon Kuliszewski, a GM from Poland! The team owner must be spending a lot of time vacationing and recruiting in Europe these last few years.

Greetings, all!

I'm Drew, I'll be playing GM Ricky "Colonel" McCoy and steering the Warriors for now.

Full disclosure--I am new to both OOTP and online league play. You'll probably see some silly stuff from me as I try to figure everything out. But I'm a fast and passionate learner, so bear with me!

I'm currently living in South Korea (from what I hear from Mike, this is ironic, with the longtime GM of the Warriors living in China). Call it GMT destiny!

I'm about halfway through my US Army career and serving as a logistics officer over here. I manage my battalion's intramural softball team (go Spartans!) and nerd out on baseball (softball) stats. I grew up playing until high school--3rd base, left and right field. I bat left. I'd give myself a career .150 AVG and maybe a .03 WAR. But I was always enthusiastic. I was the kid who would make the all-star team, barely, then never play all summer.

My dad was a career sports broadcaster at the university level and I am an English Major/failed novelist, so this community is uniquely attractive to me.

I look forward to learning from you all. Thanks to the Board for accepting my application!

-Drew

P.S. I love the podcast! Can't wait for the next one.

You are in good company, as we've had many (and still do) aspiring and actual writers here - including the Original Commish, who is off writing his own novel (how is that going, JR?). You mentioned reading Ron's book - that was so cool... I'll let the other's toot their own horns...

And about that next Podcast... I hear rumors...

Thanks Ricky! We'll be recording a new one tomorrow! Happy to have you here. Welcome to the Great Lakes Division.

Glad to have you here Drew, hope you really enjoy it here. It’s a fantastic league but you only get out of it what you put in. If you feel it like Ron’s book you’ll go far lol, there’s just no better feeling in my opinion when you finish an article or blog post. You can just feel so good to have added to the history of the league

Hi Drew - welcome aboard. I was trying to puzzle out Ricky’s newcomer status, given that he’s authored a bunch of posts long before this month. Mystery solved.

I actually finished Ron’s first PEBA book and enjoyed it quite a bit - especially whenI came across a couple of references to players I recognized. The wealth of league history and lore is very cool, and you’ll have fun going through it.

At any rate, welcome again. Best of luck and have fun!
