See, there ya go--quantifiable proof that the SL rules.
Awww, they've won the exhibition games! Aren't they cute? :-B

Palm Springs' Andres Diaz - he of the awful nickname "Genocide" - is on to pitch for the SL. With one out, Kelly laces a double into the gap. It looks like McNeill will follow suit, but Weaver has other plans. Running at full speed and extending as far as he can, he makes a spectacular catch as the ball is about to land in the left field corner. "Genocide" pumps his fist and points out to left, recognizing the great effort.

Kelly advances to third on the play, but Miyata can't get him in. Dominating Conan McCullough heads into the game to start the 5th.

No guards, do not beat Tyler.

The IL will suffer enough when the 2010 Rodriguez Cup arrives!! :P

Fun fact: no friend of McCullough can give up runs on a mound once graced by his presence 8-o

Conan takes care of business, and now we're headed to the bottom of the 5th. Palm Springs' Hisashi "Gigalo" Oike (do they collect great nicknames?) is pitching, and Florida's own Naoaki Kichida is pinch hitting to start the inning.

You may be in an IL park, but PS has some serious connections!
Do you think all of those injuries to Aurora's team have been coincidental????? :-?
I would watch yourself Tyler! Denny may be old and crotchety, but let's just say he can get results. :-o

I am sitting here in awe... it's the Remi "Blackjack" Young show tonight, folks. For those who missed it, Young has taken a HR away from the SL and hit one of his own (he also has a single). Now, Weaver leads off the 6th with a shot to the gap in deep right off of Florida's Bill Taylor. Young jumps up against the wall, making contact just as the ball reaches his glove. Of course he holds on! Tip of the cap to "Blackjack"; this is your night, young man.
