I must spend way too much time on this game

#1 Post by Matt »

Because I notice things like this...

My PEBA squad has the fewest USA born players in the league. Just 9. But oddly, my squad does not contain a single Mexican.

5 Puerto Rican's
2 Cubans
1 Brazilian

and 2 guys with hispanic names who were born in the USA.

We are, however, tied with Reno for the most Canadian born players, 3 each on our rosters. Go figure.

Other things of note.
New Orleans has the most native born USA players, with 20.

Florida is probably not at the top of most LRS owners Xmas cards list, as he has horded 8 Japanese players onto his roster, the most in the league.

Sadly, I contributed to this trend. I miss Naoaki Kichida... :,-(

How many different nationalities are represented on your team's active roster? Can you beat Palm Springs' 11? 8)

Just for the record, most of those Japanese guys where already on my team or farm system before I took over :-x

As for Kichida, I guess he feels like home being surrounded by so many of his fellow countrymen. Come September, I'm going to have my eye on Richardson. He looks like he will be back in mid-September. So I will be following him very closely just to see how the ex-Featherhead All-Star does.

I have only 11 native-born players on my squad, which represents a total of 7 nationalities.

I'm close! I have 10 different Nationalities. I'd also have 11 if José Ferrer was healthy.

Only 5 different nationalities here spread over just 7 foreign players on my roster. We're mostly made in the USA. :D

Jealous, I see

OK, I confess to having too much time on my hands as well, because I went through all 24 teams last night to count up nationalities  Not to spoil the fun for anyone, but if you can't be bothered to go count for yourself... it turns out that no one else has more; only Charleston ties PS with 11. And they're dominating the IL--no coincidence, I'm sure!

It was an attempted Arrested Development reference.

Oh man! I've never actually seen that show, but everyone tells me it was hilarious.

I'm actually plowing through it right now. Half way through season 3. It's extremely comical, but after season 1, I can see why it didn't last too long.
