Rick Ankiel type inning in DMB game

#1 Post by Matt »

playing the 1964 season in DMB baseball. Tigers and Senators squaring off for the 2nd double header in 3 days. Tigers have to use a pitcher named Bill Faul, who had one start that season and allowed 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. He also had one wild pitch in those 5 innings. So how bad can it get?

Bottom of the second, Tigers trail 1-0. Faul had allowed a single run in the first. Second inning starts innocently enough with a flyout to left. Then Faul walks the opposing pitcher. A single puts runners at 1st and 2nd. Wild pitch moves them up to 2nd and 3rd. Walk to load the bases. 3 consecutive walks plate 3 runs. Wild pitch scores a run, moves runners to second and third. Ground ball fielders choice with a runner safe on throw to the plate scores another run and puts runners on 1st and third. Wild pitch scores another run and puts a runner at second. Wild pitch moves a runner to third. I need to go to the Tigers pen, but its depleted and it's only the second inning. After a Home run plates 2 more runs, Faul finally gets out of it by getting the catcher and pitcher to ground out. 8 runs on 2 hits and no errors.

After two innings Fauls line looks like this
