LOL, it was not me. Soto would probably be an All-Star if he was not injured but for certain it was not me who casted that ballot. I'm still waiting for the last few sims before casting. But thank you to whoever voted for Soto!

'Twas not me... how can Antonio Rivera not be in the top 5? He has a .98 WHIP! If he doesn't make it I will not buy Canton Longshoremen GM Brad Dobney anything for Christmas. Try me.

I voted for him, don't blame me. How a starter with a .98 WHIP is not number one is beyond me.

How two people have left Hancock off their ballot is also insane.

Well, as of 11:20 PM ET on Sunday night Rivera has moved into a tie for 5th place with Crystal Lake's José Cruz, so we can no longer say he's out of the top 5. Looks like it'll go down to whether you prefer bottom line or rate stats. Rivera ranks highly in a number of rate stats, but his 3-5 record won't impress those that value wins like Cruz's 9-2 record will. Either approach is equally valid. Too bad Rivera isn't scheduled to pitch twice next sim; he'd at least have had a chance to even his record.

Hancock being left off a couple ballots is somewhat more surprising given both his rate stats dominance and 7-4 record, though I suppose other pitcher have a better winning %. Still, I'd say Tempe doesn't have to fret about his All-Star chances; he'll be making the trip to Aurora for sure.

I voted for Hancock; though it doesn't surprise me that some did not. That is all.

While the IL features a number of landslides, there's a ton of tight races shaping up in the SL. Tonight's sim could be huge for some of these SL All-Star wanna-bes who are on the bubble.

Well, let's take the previous race I mentioned - IL SS. George Riley leads virtually every category except SLG and HR. He's got a VORP of 30, and the second-best VORP is 15.2. That's the race in a nutshell. Yet somehow Ángel Zarate and Miguel Soto received votes. Compare:

Riley: 318/478/436
Zarate: 223/362/299
Soto: 281/348/406

How in the world?

Other bizarre votes include people leaving Hancock off the ballot (he's #1 in the SL. I could see thinking he's #2, #3, maybe even #4, but not even top five?), Rex Groves, Bernardo Marin, etc.

I understand some of us evaluate players differently. But usually differing evaluation systems agree on the extremes: everyone can tell who the best players are, and everyone can tell the worst. But the All-Star voting here looks so weird I'm considering writing an article about it.

Im not worried about Hancock, he will be on the All Star team. He , Pexego and Lizano are the three on my team who should make it.
