Draft start time preferences

#1 Post by John »

The PEBA’s 2009 amateur draft will be held live on the weekend of December 6th-7th in our private chat room linked from the homepage. Rounds 1-7 (the mandatory participation rounds) will be conducted on Saturday the 6th; rounds 8-20 will be conducted on Sunday the 7th. Owners will have 5 minutes to make their picks on Saturday and 2 minutes on Sunday.

Currently scheduled start times are 2 PM ET on the Saturday the 6th and 11 AM ET on Sunday the 7th. The goal is to wrap up each day of drafting within 4-5 hours, leaving your weekend evenings free. However, these start times are currently negotiable. We could push either one back an hour if it would make it easier for people to attend.

I'm open to suggestions, but bear in mind that I'd like to stay as close as possible to the suggested start times and I want to avoid beginning so late that we're likely to carry into the evening. Finally, if you are certain you will be unable to attend, please notify me by email or PM ASAP. At this time I'm aware of only one owner who will be unable to attend.

Yeah really, what does that mean? Do snakes even have hips? He's injured for half a year... does his "Snake Hips" nickname has something to do with that? The injury is a "fractured foot". Maybe he was trying some crazy new dance step or something. I just gotta know the origin of that nickname...

Start times are fine with me. Some may not like 11am est on Sunday though (especially pacific time zone based people).

Just bumping this for attention. So far I've received almost no suggestions for changing the start times of 2 PM ET on Saturday, Dec. 6th and 11 AM ET on Sunday, Dec. 7th. If there's enough demand I can make a move, but we're rapidly approaching the point where these start times will be locked in. Hopefully they'll work for the majority of you!

That's finals weekend, so any time is about as annoying as any other. But I'll be there. :D

As someone who will be in the Central Time Zone, most likely, on that Sunday, I wouldn't mind seeing that pushed back an hour or so. Gives me time to some blood back into my liquor system.

That's a couple requests for a later Sunday start time. Anyone else prefer 12 PM ET for the Sunday start?

12pm EST is fine for me. Heh that allows me to sleep in a little bit more. Pacific time zone here.
