The file is going up now! 26MB this time, so a little bit larger than the last one (but not too much). This sim takes care of the last of the "messiness" from our "special release" event; handling the final details delayed me a bit. You can expect new files to be posted more quickly as I get comfortable and we start settling into the normal pace of the regular season.

I haven't even looked at who got which free agents, so you're guess is as good as mine! And I can't check until the both the file and the reports are updated. Some of you may know before I do!! Keep your fingers crossed...

I also want to remind everyone (who owns OOTP) to check their in-game mail. Sometimes important notes come through there that you don't want to miss. These include scouting reports that you've requested, so make a habit of checking your inbox!

Thursday night's updated file is going up now. It's a fair bit bigger (42.7 MB) this time due to a number of updated minor league pictures, so it'll take about 20-30 minutes for it to get up. HTML reports will follow an hour or so later. I'll let you know when the file is up.

File is UP! Reports will follow in an hour or so.

I wish I had time to see what happened with my team before tying the game up with uploading. Did everyone steal all my free agent targets again?

Oh, I don't know for sure; I only have dialup, after all, so it'll be awhile before I find out the truth.

But the Magic 8-Ball rarely makes an error.

New file going up (33 MB)! We had half as many teams leaving players too long on DFA this time, so we're improving. It still takes quite a long time to address and leaves me in a position of guessing how owners want their rosters managed, though. For obvious reason I want to avoid that, so please look after your DFAs. We're still in our grace period, but starting with the regular season there will be one default no-questions-asked action taken when in these circumstances:

All players left too long on the DFA list will be RELEASED!!!

That'll leave you - and me! - crying if it's your big trade / free agent acquisition that's getting released (with you paying the entire value of the contract as a result). Don't make me do it! :-o

New file is up! Reports will take longer tonight due to all the USCBA action, so web-only users may want to tune in tomorrow. The rest of you can find out how you're doing in the USCBA Challenge right now!

Okay. So as a result of messing up some roster moves, I deleted my PEBA file and re-downloaded the tar.gz file. I unzipped it into an empty folder called "PEBA" in my saved games directory. It now won't load the game, saying it is either an old version of a saved game or corrupt. I think it's right on both accounts. How do I get PEBA back?

You need to unzip the file to a directory named "PEBA.lg" in your saved_games folder.

I fixed my problem.

I see we have two new team names included in the update - I assume these changes are official? I'm awaiting the press releases, guys! :P

The NJ change is official; his press release is the lead story on the homepage. Hopefully we'll get an extra update now that he's settled on "Hitmen" as a nickname. No more confusion with two different "Knights" teams!

NY's change won't be official until I get his news release. I was in pretty steady communication with the new guy until Friday afternoon. Hopefully he's just away from the weekend, but I do have an alternate on standby in case things fall through.

Finally, Jeff Dudas of the Maulers has referred a friend of his to me to fill a final ownership spot currently held by an inactive owner. If he's as friendly and well-spoken as Jeff, bringing him on board should be a no-brainer. :D
