The PEBAlmanac: The "NEW" New Jersey Hitmen

#1 Post by Hitmen »

Saturday, March 6th, 2038

The New Jersey Hitmen made a big splash this past Winter Meetings when owner Bernardo Antollini's administrator, Wojtek Kamien, announced the team had decided to freshen up the Hitmen logo and gear for the coming 2038 season. Whether it's to celebrate 32 years as a franchise, a successful return from the World Independent League, or just to drum up some more merchandising sales after a season that had the Hitmen at the top of the jersey sale market in 2037, the Hitmen received a much-needed reimaging.

Kamien was quoted as saying, "...we have decided to bring some class back to New Jersey and turn back the clock to an old, yet fresh and noir representation of your Hitmen." The result of which is this beautiful logo. Gone are the double guns, crosshair, and baseball logo from a more aggressive era and representation of what the Hitmen baseball team embodied; replaced with a 1950s interpretation of a classic made man on a city backdrop. New color accents that harken back to the original New Jersey Hitmen logo in use from 2007-2014, which was recently used in the team's 30th anniversary logo. And finally, a proud focus on the New Jersey name itself to bring focus back to the great city.

Further conversations with the New Jersey Hitmen admin and team have provided the following additional updates.

Team colors:
  • Gold, Gray, Maroon
The big shift for fans is that previously maroon was the main color for the team, which now it has shifted to being the accent color, while Gold and Gray have taken over as the staples for the club to align with the new old, classic view of the franchise. With that, we have received the following updates and exciting information that the Hitmen will rotate between 3 uniforms this season.

Home Uniform:
  • Breathable, double-knit polyester fabric
  • Gold coloring with gray pinstripes
  • Matching gold pants with gray pinstripes with maroon belt
  • A new "H" emblem on the left chest, representing the Hitmen name with the only remaining subtle image of a crosshair from the previous logo and theme
  • Gray button clasps for a cleaner look
  • Gray and maroon shoulder and sleeve piping
  • Maroon and gray undershirt
  • Clean gold cap with gray "NJ" initials and maroon under-visor, topped with a gray button
  • Gold socks
  • Shoes; player's choice in gold or gray
Alternate Home Uniform:
New this season is the use of an alternate home jersey that is a dedication to the previous maroon home jerseys used from the 2014 season through the 2037 season. Alternate home jerseys will be in use on weekend home games only this season at Mercer County Waterfront Park.
  • Breathable, double-knit polyester fabric, no more side flap of buttons

New jerseys and caps are now available as we head into Spring Training at your local New Jersey retailers and available online at ShopPEBA.com.

Owner Bernardo Antollini was unavailable at the Winter Meetings as he continues to make the rounds with advertisers in the New Jersey area as the rebranding of the Hitmen will be a multi-year project and is not done yet! We will soon follow up with more information on future advertising deals for the stadium and club.
