Scottish Minor League Hitter of the Year: 3B Jhong-shun Zheng (A) (SA)
Zheng.png
3B Jhong-shun Zheng's first professional season showed growth and promise towards the type of hitter he could become in the future. Zheng's 19 HR in 60 games at (A) Govan helped the Shipbuilders make a playoff push this season.

Scottish Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Andres Suarez (AAA) (PEBA)
suarez.png
SP Andres Suarez graduated out of the Claymores farm system towards the end of the PEBA regular season due to injuries in the rotation. Suarez showed potential at the PEBA level, but also struggled at times against advanced hitters. Suarez will be a prime candidate to attend Winterball this offseason, with the goal to fine tune some areas and be a fixture in the Claymores rotation for seasons to come.

Kalamazoo Minor League Players of the Year - 2036

2036 Minor League Hitter of the Year:

Marvin Heidelberg

2034 2nd round pick for Kalamazoo, Marvin Heidelberg continued his pace from 2035, where he put together a respectable .293/20/49 line in A-ball. After earning a promotion to AA, Heidelberg wasted little time making his presence known. Heidelberg put together an impressive .302/27/47 line. While his RBIs can certainly leave something to be desired, he made up for the low RBI showing by accounting for 47 runs himself. Heidelberg also put up a solid 4.3 WAR on the season. All of this lead to a late promotion to AAA, where Heidelberg started off strong in 6 games, putting together 5 hits in 14 at bats. Heidelberg is looking to put up a great stat line in 2037, and will hopefully earn a place on the PEBA roster.

2036 Minor League Pitcher of the Year:

Adam Geake

2034 1st round pick for Kalamazoo, Adam Geake put together an incredible 2036 campaign, marked by 15 wins, 2 losses, and a 1.71 ERA over 23 starts. There was some cautious optimism surrounding Geake as he entered rookie ball last season off of a less than ideal 2034 season seeing him finish with 5 wins and 8 losses. Geake finished last season with an impressive 9-5 record with a 2.52 ERA. His performance over 18 games earned him a promotion to A-ball, were he has thrived. Not only did Geake put together an impressive number of wins, but he managed to do so while also limiting his allowed homeruns to 3 over 158 1/3 innings over 23 starts, averaging nearly 7 innings per start. Geake is looking to continue his impressive pace into the 2037 season where he will start in AA, and hopefully earn an early promotion to AAA.

Okinawa 2036 Minor League Batter of the Year:Eppe In De Boomgaret (S A)
Image
We would be happy to give him this aware based on his all timer name alone, however Eppe In De Boomgaret earned this award on merit this season as he was a pain In De Boomgaret of opposing pitchers. Signed as an international free agent back in 2030 for $2M out of Aruba, this season things seems to click more consistently for the 22 year old. Playing a combination of 2nd and 3rd, Eppe has a more consistent approach at the plate this year and was awarded with more middle of the lineup opportunities. He capitalized on that contributing 21 HRs, 71 RBIs and 49BB while limiting his strikeouts to 52 on the season. His .804 OPS, 130 OPS+ and 3.0 WAR paced the teams offense and was a large part of the reason behind the Kobayashi Fireflies division title with their 65-45 record this season.

Okinawa 2036 Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Vincente Gonzalez (AAA)
Image
Winning Okinawa's minor league pitcher of the year once again is 25 year old starting pitcher Vincente Gonzalez who was promoted to AAA this season and despit falling out of the top 100 prospects list where he had previously been #69, he didnt let that impact him. The team was hoping for consistency at the AAA level and he brought that this season going 11-4 over 161 innings. In his 24 AAA starts and 141 innings, Gonzalez put together a solid campaign with a 3.01 ERA, 7.9 K/9 and a 3.5 WAR. While Gonzalez made the jump to PEBA on 2 occasions due to injures at the parent club, those within the organization are hoping he can make that jump permanently at the start of next season while bringing that same consistency he has across the minors.

Amsterdam Minor League Hitter of the Year:
CF Jorge 'Bucky' Rosas (A/AA)

Rosas posted 4.3 WAR over multiple stops as he was promoted to AA Den Bosch as a 21 year old. His defense is a work in progress, with a strong chance he'll have to move to a corner outfield position, but he's got great bat to ball skills and should hit for average. He has yet to hit below .300 at any minor league level.

Amsterdam Minor League Pitcher of the Year:
SP Carlos 'Little John' Gallegos (AAA)

Gallegos went 14-8 with a 2.18 ERA in his second full season at AAA Eindhoven. He's an intelligent pitcher who gets the most of our his tools despite not being loved by most scouts. His performance this past season should significantly help his case to not be back in AAA next spring.

Gloucester Fishermen 2036 Minor League Hitter of The Year - RF Won-Sik Kim (R)
A sophomore in the rookie ball, the S. Korean greatly improved in his batting this year to become the key batter of the Duba squad. There's no doubt that he's one of the best performing batters in the GLO minor teams with a statline like this: .310/.390/.707, 36 HR, 72 R, 70 RBI, 39 BB, 10 SB, and 1.098 OPS. He amassed 5.0 WAR and won the 2036 IBC Platinum Stick Award at RF.

Gloucester Fishermen 2036 Minor League Pitcher of The Year - SP Yoshinobu Okada (AAA)
As a Rules 5 draft player drafted by GLO in year 2035, it's no secret that this man was above the AAA level and he proved it right here this year after a complete year in the AAA. Known as a fast adapter, Okada was pulled straight from A ball into the PEBA and stayed true with 2.3 WAR back in season 2035. This year, he was dominating the AAA ball with 4.8 WAR and a statline of 10-12, 3.24 ERA, 125 K, 117 ERA+, .278 BABIP, and 1.15 WHIP. Browns were not a winning team this year but this man gave the team the best chance to win a game when he's on the mound.

Palm Springs Minor League Player Awards 2036
Image
Palm Springs' Minor League Hitter of the Year for 2036 is center fielder Carlos Ocasio. Signed by the Codgers organization out of the Dominican Republic in 2032, Carlos Ocasio has been a do-it-all wonder thus far. He began a promising career at Asmara in 2035, and truly blossomed into a dominant force in 2036. He hit for a .319 average, racked up an OPS of .998, won the 2036 IBC Platinum Stick Award at CF, and led the Modernists to their first ever Intercontinental Baseball Coalition IBC Cup without losing a single game--a feat for which he received the 2036 IBC Cup MVP Award. In addition to his prowess at the plate, Ocasio is flexible in the field, having the ability to play every position except for catcher--and perhaps even that is not outside the realm of possibility. Still barely 20 years old, this prodigy is already rated in the top 50 prospects in PEBA by OSA, and seems a sure bet to appear in Palm Springs in the future.

Image
Palm Springs' Minor League Pitcher of the Year for 2036 is Lana'i City starter Nathan Comyn. Though originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, he traveled to the Caribbean to attend Island High School, from which he was plucked by the Codgers in the second round of the 2034 amateur draft. After two promising seasons at rookie-league Asmara, he was promoted to Lana'i City, where he rapidly became dominant. He started 22 times, worked 142.1 innings, yielded 107 hits, walked 22, fanned 145 and held opposing hitters to a .199 average while maintaining a 1.77 ERA. As a result he was unanimously selected the winner of the 2036 SS-A Hawaiian League Outstanding Pitcher Award. Tragically, he suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow in September, sidelining him for 11 months, which was likely a key factor in the Pineapples' loss to the Kauai Monsters in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. However, the Aberdonian's future remains bright, and his taking the mound in salmon and green seems a foregone conclusion.
