Joe Riley just stole home. Ran right over my fat catcher. That's both neat and not so neat.

Took 2/3 from WV this sim, bringing my record this season to 6-1 against the evil Alleghanies. Quite pleased with that considering how they have treated me over the last 5 years in head to head matchups!

My favorite thing to watch in the minors is SP Bob Cruz, a 22 year old I picked up as a free agent signing at the end of June from the WIL. Always rare to find actually useful A-ball eligible players in free agency particularly with 2+ star potential and positive traits, especially mid-season. Anyway, he won his first 8 starts (!) for the Bears and after 9 starts has a perfect 8-0 record and a 1.91 ERA. He has multiple 12 K games including a complete game shutout. He might never make it to the PEBA, but I'm nonetheless quite impressed by how much of a monster he's been.

Jacob deGrom would be proud...
Update on this not-so-neat: Fernandez now sits at 12 starts, a 2.36 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, a 1.5 WAR, and a record of....0-3. 8-o

YUMA LOSES 11th in a ROW!

The 2036 Yuma Arroyos are beginning to live up to their historical greatness and play like the old Yuma Bulldozers. With 11 consecutive losses under their belts, the Yuman Beings are playing as consistently as the great teams of the past. Though they remain a long ways from tying their own PEBA record of 23 consecutive losses, this year's squad is bubbling with enthusiasm. Cries of "We can do it" and "Ya gotta believe" are heard in the dugout every time a Yuma batter pops out or grounds into a double play.

Home attendance will continue to rise as the Arroyos chase the ghostly perfection of 23 consecutive losses.

Antonio Figueroa made a leaping catch over the right field wall to rob Nolan McMahon of a home run this sim.

Neat is Jose Aleman winning the PoW award, hitting .609 and leading Aurora to a 5-1 week! Not good enough to gain ground on Reno, but good enough to move back over .500 and solidify the lead over Bakersfield for 2nd place in the Desert Hills!

After spending the first four months of his Malts career on the IL, Rule 5 draft pick Pedro Molina made his ML debut in late July. After a bumpy first few games, he really took off in August putting up 3 wins, 7 saves, a 1.93 ERA, and a 0.93 WHIP in 12 games on his way to winning Rookie of the Month.

I sign Brian Coleman to hopefully get him not to retire at the end of the year and hopefully makes it to 2000 hits. I even give him a start. How does he repay me? By committing the error that made my game go into extras when 2 runs scored. Screw you Mr. Coleman..

On the flip side, Iwao Rin came in and went 2.2 IP for me and got the win in his first appearance for me.

Not-so-Neat: Forgot to adjust the AAA rotation so Seong-Chin Kim only got one start in the playoffs before we got eliminated.

Neat: With Akron out of the playoffs, Kim will now be ready to make his ML debut!

There's great excitement down in the Caribbean as Montserrat not only has it's first winning season (they finished at .500 last season), they will be making their first playoff appearance. Top 2036 draftees Leo Gerber (6-3, 3.27), Dae-hyun Pak (7-2, 2.95), C Karsten Koertig (.264, 16 HR, 55 RBI) and 1B Mark Newton (.324, 16 HR, 58 RBI), led the way along with last year's draftee Josh Whisken, who had 37 HR and 80 RBI along with a .264 ERA.

Mokule'ia needs a win or an Ewa Beach loss in the last two games to clinch a spot - or two losses by Osakasayama, to clinch a spot for the 5th straight season.

Rookie Kanai Aliimalu has an average of .326 a war of 1.3 and an OPS+ of 155 in his first 44 games in the PEBA.

In 104 games in AAA his average was .222, WAR was 0.9 and OPS+ was 108.

In game 5 of the 2036 SL Championship matchup between Niihama and Fargo, Harold Stowe hit a 3-run inside the park home run. That feat not only helped decide the game (which Niihama won by one run), but marked an impressive feat for a guy that only has two stolen bases in his entire career - one being when he played in high school.
