All-Star Game Tickets

#1 Post by John »

Tickets! Get yer tickets here!

PEBA’s 2008 All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, June 28 @ 8 PM ET. The game will be broadcast live through Yugma (those of you who watched the Planetary Extreme Championship games last season know how this works).

As usual, there are 10 spots available for owners who want to watch the game. To claim a ticket, please reply in this thread stating you attention to attend the game. Only one ticket per owner, please!

Instructions on using Yugma:
  • If you’ll be attending, complete this step right away: Go to http://www.yugma.com/ , click the “Get Free Account” button and fill in the required info. Remember the name and email address you used, as you’ll need them to sign in later.
  • Shortly before the game, I will send an email to all owners who reserved tickets. It will contain a Session ID #. Note this; you’ll need it in a minute.
  • Again go to http://www.yugma.com/ and click the “Join Session” button. The Yugma client will load on your computer. If you’re running a virus scanner, you may receive a false positive virus alert. There is no virus risk here! Instruct your scanner to add Yugma to your trusted zone and proceed.
  • You’ll be presented with a login box where you’ll enter the name and email address you used when creating your Yugma account. You’ll also be asked for the Session ID# from the email I’ll have sent you.
  • Once you’ve entered in that info and clicked “Join”, a window will pop up displaying the entire contents of my home desktop. As the game plays out, you’ll be able to watch it unfold as if you were here playing it on my computer yourself!
  • There will be a sideband window that includes a chat function, so all of you watching the game can talk together while you enjoy the action.

Enough groveling already!

Add $3M to my budget, and I'll come.

Okay, fine, I'll show up anyways

Well, I dunno… they’re really hard to come by right now… but I think we can squeeze you in.

/me breathes hopefully unnoticed sigh of relief that a ticket has finally been claimed

I feel this is a great idea to have the IL and GL championship teams manage the All-Star teams (respectively)

I'm all for allowing the attending manager with the best record in each league at the All-Star Break manage a team. I believe that's in the Constitution, in fact. Now we just need to have some managers attend!

Last call for tickets! If we don't get 4 owners signed up by Saturday morning, I'll cancel the live broadcast and play out the game all by my lonesome. Maybe there'll be an upsurge of interest now that the All-Stars have been announced. Here's hoping!

Ah well, it was worth a try!

Tonight's live broadcast of the All-Star Game has been canceled due to lack of interest. This was also the case for last year's All-Star Game, indicating there just isn't the interest to support a live broadcast of this event. I'll stick to broadcasting just the Planetary Extreme Championship games; that worked out wonderfully and was a great deal of fun for all involved.

Tonight's game will still be played out. I'll be managing both sides to insure that players get subbed in properly. Therefore, expect a delay in the release of tonight's update.
