Who should be number 1 and number 2 in the draft and why
I am going with Hancock 1 and Tatum 2 because both have tremendous stuff and both are highly intelligent which means they will be lights out when they develop. The Calzones have noted that most of the aces in the league have a high intelligence which is why I think these two need to go num ber 1 and 2
I think this will be fun

I may have to recuse myself from this discussion since I have a vested interest in how the first few picks play out. However, I'm on the record as saying Michael Burton is a favorite of mine. My scouts rate him at 4 1/2*, which to me is just one more reason why not to trust the star ratings. Just look at the numbers he's put up, and that's not playing full-time! Admittedly he didn't have a good playoff series against Tulane (by the way, why isn't John Famora covering the Jade Breakers playoff run?), but then none of the Shastas did. I highly doubt he'll go #1 or #2, but someone is going to pop him in the 1st round and end up with a crazy-awesome hitter for years to come... mark my words.

Actually, I have done a bit of research on the int work ethic discussion, as well as the hight factor mention by the CAls. I blanked all personality ats except Int and WE and made all starting levels equal and all prospected ats maxed on three teams, which I chose one to be the int another WE and the third to be all blanks. What I found is:
Taller players are better than shorter players in terms of development.
Neutral or all goose eggs develop faster in the off season than those with personality
and hands down, Work ethic is the most critical personality to posses in terms of development.

I don't know why you selected him(maybe I'm missing something), but I'll take him! He looks good enough for me!Thoroughbreds wrote:All I know is that Crystal Lake must have their eyes on Jose Contreras
As far as Tempe selecting #1 and grabbing Hancock-be careful and don't make the biggest blunder of PEBA all-time by the taking the wrong Hancock! after all, there are 3 SP's named Hancock. Of course, the rest of the league wouldn't mind if you selected Bo or Matt.
I forgot to address the #1 & #2 pick question in this thread.
______ Hancock will probably go #1 due to all of the hype.
#2 is a toss up between 'Chopper' Toro and 'Sugar Bear' Garcia. Both have tremendous ceilings, but I will give the nod to Chopper because he's a lefty. He also has a much lower greed rating. When you're dealing with future superstars, greed plays a bigger role than when you're dealing with mediocre talent.
John, smart move avoiding this subject as you own a high pick! If John had to select between Toro and Garcia, I'm guessing Toro would be the man. After all, just take a look at Aurora's manager-TORO LOCO Maybe they're related.
Tempe, Hancock is one risky pick!! I mean, he has a below average hold rating, he's horrible defensively, and he allowed a HR in college in 81 IP! If you really want to take a chance on him, go ahead. If I were you, I would draft him and then trade his defenseless butt to Crystal Lake. That way, you wouldn't have to worry about him giving up a lot more than 1 Homerun in the majors. Trust me, you don't want that kind of worry.
