2035 Schedule

#1 Post by Board of the PEBA »

First of all, Congrats to Ken Hannah and the Florida Farstriders - our 2034 PEC Rodriguez Cup holders. For Ken, it is his third title (2025, 2033) and it is the Florida Franchise's fifth title (2011 and 2020) - tied for most in PEBA history (Aurora, with 5).

Here is our preliminary schedule for the 2034-2035 Offseason, taking us to Opening Day. This schedule begins with Monday, January 3rd's first sim (during the normal sim window - 5pm PT/8pm ET). The schedule takes us through many significant events, which I have tried to highlight with the colorful schedule attached. There are a number of specific deadlines to note:

Mon. January 3rd - First offseason sim. Revenue Sharing has been already delivered, and New Jersey and Gloucester have rejoined the PEBA. It is time to set ticket prices, Scouting and Development Budgets. Your last chance to set these will be your export for Sim 6 - January 14, 2022. Once the Winter Meetings come, your ticket prices are frozen until the Season begins. PEBA Award voting will end at 11:59pm ET of the 3rd, results will be entered in-game prior to the next sim. Trading is once again open.

Wed. January 5th - Performance Loyalty & Market Adjustments. This PEBA tradition will be implemented during Offseason Sim 2. These will be posted soon, hopefully during the weekend. Although we will already know, Awards will be announced in-game.

Fri. January 7th - This is your last chance to make a decision on Team Options that you may hold on a players contract. Be sure to check your in-game mail messages. They will expire in the next sim. Best to make these decisions now.

Mon. January 10th - Salary Arbitration Hearings. Your arbitration offers to players must be submitted before this sim. If you have players you wish not to make offers to (who will become a free agent), be sure to withdraw an offer or simply release them. If you wish to make a Qualifying Offer to a player who will leave for Free Agency (and thus net you a Supplemental Pick in the next draft, should they sign elsewhere) those also must be made before this sim. Free Agents will declare on 12/2/2034, which will be mid-sim.

Sat. January 15 - Winter Meetings. Our Annual event will be held this day in the Winter Meeting Slack Channel - the platform will also provide the convenience of private discussions channels for trade talks. This venue will give individuals who cannot attend for the full time commitment, the chance to check in - and negotiate on the fly. Please note that CP accumulation will end at this time - and spending your CP on Rewards can begin - with the deadline to get your selections to the Commish of January 26. Start planning ahead - feel free to submit them early if you know what you want - it's a big help if you do - but no changes will occur until after the Winter Meetings. I will try to get an updated (but not final) CP Tracker posted soon.

Thurs. January 20 - The Rule 5 Draft will occur this day. The last chance to place a player who is Rule 5 eligible (# next to their name on the Transactions screen) onto the 40-man roster is exports for Sim 8 (Tues. January 18). Players who are rostered for the Sim 9 export will be released. The Rule 5 Draft occurs in-game so you will need to build a list of players on the Draft List screen by January 20, sim time. You will only be allowed to draft as many players as are spots on your 40-man roster, so if you have 40 players, there is no need to make a list.

Tue. January 31 - Pre-Season Begins.

Mon. February 7 - Spring Training Arrives. You will want to set your spring roster according to your needs - the first set of games will happen in the following sim on February 9.

Sat. February 19 - Opening Day. I will end the last spring sim a day earlier, before the rosters cut down to 26, so minor leaguers don't get docked for ML time. You will nonetheless need to get your rosters (ML, AAA, AA) down to 26 - 27 for AAA/AA, so the sim will run - but more to come at that time... This will be a special Saturday sim...

And... Looking ahead...

Sat. & Sun. March 19 & 20 - PEBA Live Draft. More, of course, as we approach Draft Day.

There you have it - I hope I have been thorough enough and haven't missed anything. Should something not add up, I've missed something, or you simply have a question - please speak up - I can't say with 100% assurance this is perfect...

It's time to pull up a chair to that Ol' Hot Stove!

With Spring Training arriving, here's a look at the regular season! Of note:

- Opening Day comes on Saturday the 19th, along with AAA and AA. What is important to note we will end Spring Training a day short of Opening day so that you can clear the non-roster and minor league guys without picking up service time. The offshoot is don't use 7-day line-ups for this sim - or do so at your own risk...
- A Ball begins on the 24th of the month...
- Short A will begin on Pi Day - as does All-Star Voting in StatsLab.
- The PEBA Draft will arrive with the Thursday, March 17 sim and will be held live in the Draft Slack channel on March 19 & 20, 1pm ET/10am PT. There will be more to come.
- Post-Draft, our sims will be moved to Wednesday (23rd) and Saturday (26th), returning to M-TH on the 28th.
- Rookie Ball begins on our March 26th sim.
- All-Star voting ends on April 2 and teams will be announced on the 4th.
- April 7th is the 29th PEBA All-Star Game, Live, in the forum, from Manchester!!
- The Trade Deadline arrives on April 14, with trades due by sim time. This year the deadline arrives on an in-game Monday!
- Roster expansion arrives on the May 2nd and you will note that we will sim the full week in-game, to September 3, instead of two short sims around this event.
- the Regular season ends on the 16th of May, and the Playoffs begin the 19th...
