As we head to the 6th, Yuma's Yasuyuki Hayagawa comes on to pitch. Out on the field, Fargo's Lorenzo Castanieda takes over at 3rd, Aurora's Dean Walden moves in to play in center, Fargo's 'K-9' Tony Mireles comes on to play RF...

Sandor Vis is the first hitter for Hayagawa, and after looking at a couple of strikes he lines one deep into right-center - bouncing high off the wall, and in an un'Pooky' like manner, he races around for a lead-off triple...

Carlos Garza earns a tough full count before he takes a ball four...

Adrian Fuentes takes a strike and then hits a low, sinking liner to center - Dean Walden comes racing in and makes the catch - but he has too much momentum to get a strong throw off to the plate - Vis tags and scores the fourth run of the day for the IL...

Dan Collins looking at 5 pitches, get's the second walk of the inning...

That brings up San Juans Bernardo Rios... Hayagawa goes full on Rios before he lines a single up the middle... Walden comes in hard and this time he get's off a strong throw - holding the runner at third - leaving the bases loaded...

With the fans in a chorus of boos, Fargo manager Kenny Butler comes out to get Hayagawa and in comes the Ghosts reliever Ernest 'Professor' Middleton...

Francisco Montoya, up for the first time will be Middleton's first hitter - looking for a double play... instead, Montoya grounds one up the middle, Garza scores and it's 5-0...

Alfredo Guzman grounds a 1-1 pitch to short - they get the runner out at second, but this time it's Reyna who has trouble with the ball - and they get just the one out - with the 6th run of the game scoring for the IL...

Morimoto comes in and after a swing and miss, he grounds one to Reyna - who gets the out at first - but the damage is done...

That's 3-runs on 3-hits and as we move to the bottom of the 6th...

Changes galore coing on... Arinori Kitamura of Hartford is the new pitcher for the IL. 'Red Eye' Mendoza is coming in to play left for the IL, and San Antonio's Luis Cedeno is in at 2B, New Orleans German Lima at 3B and Jaime Villanueva, London's catcher is in and batting 9th.

Aurora's Dean Walden will lead it off for the SL... Kitamura works the count 2-2 before Walden lines one in the hole at short for a lead off single...

Tony Mireles, Fargo's talented outfielder takes a 1-1 pitch and DRIVES it into deep center - over the head of 'El Jaguar' but he makes a diving stab - AND MAKES THE CATCH!!! Walden, who had rounded second, tags the bag and hustles back to second...

Madison's Pablo Garza is on deck - but out of the dugout comes Tempe DH Pat Barry - and the crowd, recognizing that 'Mountain Man' is coming out fo the game stands one more time and cheers - amongst a scattering of boos...

Barry digs in... He watches a ball go wide before swinging and popping it up behind third... Lima black tracks and makes an easy catch...

That brings up Reno's Leonard Inman to hit for Lopez - and he'll likely play first with Aurora's 1B and SL leading hitter Raul Munoz out of the game with a hip injury... Inman watches a ball and swings through three 98 mph fastballs to strike out...

A hit but nothing else - it's off to the 7th...

During the between inning activities, the crowd had their attention drawn to the left field corner for the regular Madison Malts Beer Race!

It was a tight battle, down to the wire - after the Hamm's bottle got bumped by Miller Lite... It was Coors... It was Miller Lite... It was Pabst... but at the end it was Coors that crossed the finish line first - made of Rocky Mountain fresh water...

Miller Lite was disqualified with Pabst finishing second and Schlitz getting the bronze...

Changes for the SL - Crystal Lakes Kyle Weaver comes on to pitch, with Neo-Tokyo's Jason Box coming on to play left, Bears catcher Mauro Mata to catch, 'El Cid' Vasquez, of Toyama to play short and Logan Malone of Shin Seiki will take over at 2B...

Ramon Francisco comes on for his first AB and he loops Weavers first pitch out into right - where Mireles reels it on for the first out...

Havana's Juan Mendoza takes a 1-1 pitch from Weaver and grounds it to Malone at second - who scoops and throws for the second out...

Luis Cedeno is no match for Weaver who throws an 82 mph change past the mighty Cedeno for strike three...

It's the 7th inning stretch...

For the 7th inning stretch, the crowd goes crazy when Bob Uecker comes out of the home dugout to sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'...

Havana's Ricardo Perez comes on to face the SL in the bottom of the 7th...

Jason Box comes up for the SL and on a 2-2 pitch he lines it past Lima at 3rd - a lead off single for the Akira star...

Bakersfield's catcher Maura Mato gets over excited and swings at the first pitch and pops it up to center - Guzman takes a few steps in and makes the catch...

'El Cid' is up and after working his way to a 2-2 count, he lifts one to left-center - where Guzman takes care of that...

And that will be it for Perez - in comes Amsterdam's Carl Ford...

Ford faces Logan Malone, who works it full before swinging and missing to end the 7th...

On to the 8th...

Kalamazoo's Miguel Vega will come on to startle 8th for the SL...

German Lima of the Trendsetters will lead off... He hits a 1-1 pitch sharply to Malones left, but he slides over and fields it cleanly and flips it to first for the out...

Jaime Villanueva comes up and he hits one sharply to third - but Stocky can't handle it - To Hot To Handle? Nope - it goes on the board as an error for Castanieda...

And that will be the last hitter for Vega as Daniel Boorman of Fargo comes out to take over...

Boorman will face Rios with a runner on first... and Rios greets the Dinosaur reliever with a sinking liner to left for a single off a 2-1 pitch...

Francisco Montoya took a strike and then lined one down the right field line - Jaime scores... Rios scores as Montoya trots into second with a double - 8-0...

Alfredo Guzman comes up for the IL and he lines a 1-1 pitch right at Walden in center...

Morimoto, the Farstriders, comes up swinging at the first pitch and hits a comeback to Boorman for the final out...

Heading to the bottom of the 8th...

Amsterdam's closer, Kelsey Buck will come on here in the bottom of the 8th...

'Stocky', looking to get the SL off the snide... But instead he hits a shallow fly to the right field line, easily handled by Rios...

Buck gets ahead of Walden, 1-2, before the Aurora CF lifts an easy fly to left...

That's all for Buck, as Florida's Bob Burns comes in to finish the inning...

Tony Mireles comes up to face Burns... and on a full count he lines one into left-center, Mendoza cuts it off short of the fence, but K-9 coasts into the bag at second with a double...

Pat Barry, winding down his career in Tempe, swings and misses at strike three...

AND... we head to the 9th...

It is the 'Hyena' coming in for the SL - Aurora's close Yellel Twia...

Ramon Francisco comes to the plate... and he greets Twia rudely - lacing one down the left field line, jogging into second with a double...

Juan Mendoza pops a 2-1 pitch up to second - Malone takes the catch for the first out...

And that's it for Twia as Toyama's Scottie Shorland comes out of the 'pen...

Out of the dugout to hit for Luis Cedeno is London infielder Bill Jones... Jones gets jammed on the first pitch and rolls it to Inman, who makes the easy play - Francisco moving over to third...

German works a full count walk from Shorland, bringing up Villanueva...

And Jaime wastes no time - grounding the ball through the infield for an RBI single - Lima stopping at second...

Rios turns on a pitch up and in, popping it over towards the stands - Castanieda runs over and leaning in, he makes the catch to end the inning...

It's do or die for the SL - and they have their work cut out for them...

West Virginia's Greg Bowen will come in for the IL, with San Juan's Jose Gomez warming up in the 'pen...

Leonard Inman will lead it off for the SL, looking for a 9-run homer... instead, on a full count, Bowen walks Inman...

Palm Spring's Pablo Ortiz is coming up to hit for Jason Box... and on a 1-1 pitch he grounds it to second - Jones gets the easy out at second, with Ortiz reaching first safely...

And here comes Gomez...

Mauro Mata, the young catcher, steps in... and on a 2-1 pitch he lines it right to Francisco on the bag - but Ortiz is able to get back before he is doubled up... two down...

Rodrigo Vasquez comes up looking to extend the inning, as the SL looks to avoid the shut-out... but he grounds it to Lima at third, who's throw just beats Ortiz at second for the force - and the IL wins it!

For the IL, it was 9-runs on 14-hits and no errors...

The SL had 6-hits and an error in their failure to score...

Gustavo Hernandez of West Virginia was the winning pitcher, with Bakersfield's Pat Willis the loser...

Rocky Kowalski of Kentucky was the not surprising MVP with a 2-3 day - a run and 2 RBI as he had an inside the park homer and an RBI double...

A full house of 65,000 witnessed the game that took 3:36 minutes to play...

With the win, the IL picks up their 13th win - cutting the IL lead in the PEBA Mid-Summer Classic to 15-13...

The loss ended the SL 5-game win streak, their first loss since the 2028 game at New Orleans, also a blowout - 15-7...

The 9-run difference was the greatest in All-Star Game history (that 2028 game was the previous high) and this was th second shutout in All-Star history - the SL was also shut out in 2015, 5-0 at London...
