2034 Schedule

#1 Post by Borealis »

First of all, Congrats to Ken Hannah and the Florida Farstriders - our 2033 PEC Rodriguez Cup holders. For Ken, it is his second title (2025) and it is the Florida Franchise's fourth title (2011 and 2020) - 2nd best in PEBA history (Aurora, with 5).

Here is our preliminary schedule for the 2033-2034 Offseason, taking us to Opening Day. This schedule begins with Monday, July 26th's first sim (during the normal sim window - 5pm PT/8pm ET). The schedule takes us through many significant events, which I have tried to highlight with the colorful schedule attached. There are a number of specific deadlines to note:

Mon. July 26 - First offseason sim. Revenue Sharing has been already delivered. It is time to set ticket prices, Scouting and Development Budgets. Your last chance to set these will be your export for Sim 6 - August 6, 2021. Once the Winter Meetings come, your ticket prices are frozen until the Season begins. PEBA Award voting will end at 11:59pm ET of the 26th, results will be entered in-game prior to the next sim. Trading is once again open.

Wed. July 28 - Performance Loyalty & Market Adjustments. This PEBA tradition will be implemented during Offseason Sim 2. These will be posted soon, hopefully tomorrow. Although we will already know, Awards will be announced in-game.

Fri. July 30 - This is your last chance to make a decision on Team Options that you may hold on a players contract. Be sure to check your in-game mail messages. They will expire in the next sim. Best to make these decisions now.

Mon. August 2- Salary Arbitration Hearings. Your arbitration offers to players must be submitted before this sim. If you have players you wish not to make offers to (who will become a free agent), be sure to withdraw an offer or simply release them. If you wish to make a Qualifying Offer to a player who will leave for Free Agency (and thus net you a Supplemental Pick in the next draft, should they sign elsewhere) those also must be made before this sim. Free Agents will declare on 11/30/2033, which will be mid-sim.

Sat. August 7 - Winter Meetings. Our Annual event will be held this day in the Winter Meeting Slack Channel - the platform will also provide the convenience of private discussions channels for trade talks. This venue will give individuals who cannot attend for the full time commitment, the chance to check in - and negotiate on the fly. Please note that CP accumulation will end at this time - and spending your CP on Rewards can begin - with the deadline to get your selections to the Commish of August, 19. Start planning ahead - feel free to submit them early if you know what you want - it's a big help if you do - but no changes will occur until after the Winter Meetings. I will try to get an updated (but not final) CP Tracker posted soon.

Thurs. August 8 - The Rule 5 Draft will occur this day. The last chance to place a player who is Rule 5 eligible (# next to their name on the Transactions screen) onto the 40-man roster is exports for Sim 8 (Tues. August 10). Players who are rostered for the Sim 9 export will be released. The Rule 5 Draft occurs in-game so you will need to build a list of players on the Draft List screen by August 12, sim time. You will only be allowed to draft as many players as are spots on your 40-man roster, so if you have 40 players, there is no need to make a list.

Fri. August 20 - Migration to v22. On this day, I will take exports in v21 for the last time. I will sim up to the start of the pre-season and then I will import into v22 and upload a new League file. Each GM will need to import their current League state into v22, and then update as usual once I give the go ahead. We will have the weekend + Monday to troubleshoot. We will review when the time comes.

Tue. August 24 - Pre-Season Begins.

Mon. August 30 - Spring Training Arrives. You will want to set your spring roster according to your needs - the first set of games will happen in the following sim on March 31.

Sat. September 11 - Opening Day. I will end the last spring sim a day earlier, before the rosters cut down to 26, so minor leaguers don't get docked for ML time. You will nonetheless need to get your rosters (ML, AAA, AA) down to 26 - 27 for AAA/AA, so the sim will run - but more to come at that time... This will be a special Saturday sim...

And... Looking ahead...

Sat. & Sun. October. 9 & 10 - PEBA Live Draft. More, of course, as we approach Draft Day.

There you have it - I hope I have been thorough enough and haven't missed anything. Should something not add up, I've missed something, or you simply have a question - please speak up - I can't say with 100% assurance this is perfect...

It's time to pull up a chair to that Ol' Hot Stove! Greg wants to trade!! The Evas want to trade!! and Yuma needs draft picks!!

It has dawned on me that with my travels, the regular season schedule never got posted - I apologize for that! So here it is...

Of note:

- Of course Opening Day has come and gone, with AAA and AA also getting underway...
- A Ball began on the 16th of the month...
- You will note that Short A will begin with Monday's sim - as will be corrected with tonights sim - schedule starts is not one of OOTP's strong suits. All-Star Voting will also commence on Monday.
- The PEBA Draft will arrive with Thursday's, October 7 sim and will be held live in the Draft Slack channel on October 9 & 10, 1pm ET/10am PT. There will be more to come.
- Post-Draft, our sims will be moved to Wednesday (13th) and Saturday (16th) for the week of the 11th, returning to M-TH on the 18th.
- Rookie Ball begins on our October 16th sim.
- All-Star voting ends on October 24 and teams will be announced on the 25th.
- October 28th is the 28th PEBA All-Star Game, Live, in the forum, from Madison, WI!
- The Trade Deadline arrives on November 4, with trades due by sim time 11/8. This year the deadline arrives on an in-game Monday!
- Roster expansion arrives on the 22nd of November and we will have a morning sim on Thanksgiving Day. I will say at this point, tentatively that will occur at 10am PT/1pm ET, upon the condition of which State I am in... read into that what you wish... :-?
- the Regular season ends on the 9th of December, and the Playoffs begin the 13th - which means if we have a complete post-season set of games, run timely, one GM will be very happy with what he finds under his Christmas Eve tree...

Looking ahead, I estimate the Winter Meetings on January 15, 2022 and Opening Day around the 19th of February - again, these are just estimates... That seems so far off...
