New GM in Kentucky
Hey everybody. I'm Rory and will be taking over the Thoroughbreds. I actually have been in several leagues with Duane over the years, so I feel very comfortable that I'm not walking into a dumpster fire of a team. He'll be a tough act to follow, but I'll give it my best.
I've been around the online sim baseball community since back in the "High Heat Baseball" days. I believe my first experience with OOTP was OOTP 4. Several of my High Heat leagues converted over around that time. I was a Beta tester for OOTP 10, which was really interesting. I've been in a few very good, long-running leagues, but have also joined several that have just up and disappeared for no apparent reason. I know the PEBA has been around a while and has an extremely solid foundation/history. I've been tempted to apply before, but I was working at that time and carrying 3 or 4 teams in as many leagues seemed to be my limit. Not so anymore.
What always intrigued me about the league was the focus on contributions from the league's GM base. I've written for other leagues, but it often ends up just myself and one other person contributing. It gets to be work rather than fun at that point, and I'm here to have some fun!
Getting in during the post-season is great as I have a chance to look over the team and get comfortable with the requirements of the league. I hope to get to know y'all better through the league forums, Slack, and of course, your writing.
Go Thoroughbreds!

Rory,
Welcome to PEBA. Duane is definitely a tough act to follow, but good luck and if you need any input feel free to reach out. People are very willing to help.

Welcome to the PEBA and best of luck, Rory. I'm afraid your arrival may have coincided with a certain group of citrus-lovers establishing something of a stranglehold on the Dixie

Welcome, Rory! You're inheriting a very well-cared-for team in the Thoroughbreds. I look forward to seeing what you do with them!
