GM RJ Ermola of the Crystal Lake Sandgnats, who is also the finance director of PEBA, presented a virtual zoom meeting regarding the state of PEBA league finances today from the Gnats' training center on the Italian island of San Pietro. Typically, there is no interest during this yearly meeting, but with an on going labor dispute and present negotiations regarding PEBA's media deal there were over 1,000 players, team staff members and media members in attendance. Notably, Florida Farstriders Owner Drew Streets appeared filtered as a penguin wearing a suite.

"First off I want to congratulate all organizations for increasing revenues four years in a row. This year PEBA revenue closed the books at $5.287 Billion for the season," stated RJ Ermola to begin the meeting. "The Ghosts and Knights were a net positive to the league - not only did both these organizations expand our sport entertainment market share, but most of our teams expanded their attendance and grew revenues" stated Ermola. "With negotiations on going it is looking like our media partners will certainly need to pay more to maintain rights to broadcast PEBA games on their platforms. Additionally, our standard deviation in revenue between organizations has fallen to a 7 year low."

For reference - In 2028 PEBA lost its appeal to void its current media deal contract as the result of an auto-renewal of the current deal when Harry Castle alleged he was just downloading the contract on his Gmail account when a home-run hit by George Lee struck his ipad. As a result of the 4th circuit ruling the PEBA media deal was held valid for another 4 seasons.

Given the recent propensity of Castle and Co. to trip over their own feet, it wouldn’t surprise me if the league wanted to insert the heft of the American government into negotiations with the union headed by the President's son about how to proceed with simultaneously negotiation a labor deal. With President Duane Johnson taking the side of the Union, Castle's strategy has been to absolve itself of villain status from both the players and the fans by using the President to negotiate with media partners while at the same time promising an increase in revenue share to the players.

Player's Union President, Brandon Johnson was pleased with today's news. While he would not give a formal statement regarding his recent retirement as an active player, rumor is it that the player's union will be demanding an increase to minimum salaries and other contract related concessions as a percentage of revenue gained from media contract deals.
