YUMA MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Minor League Hitter of the Year: OF Andrej Eenkhoorn (S A)

Eenkhoorn came to the Yuma organization in a trade with West Virginia (thank you, Greg) in December of last year. He won the SS-A Player of the Week Award in June and July, then capped off his brilliant season with the August Player of the Month Award and the 2032 SS-A Outstanding Hitter Award!

Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Augusto Alonso (S A)

Alonso spent last year (2031) pitching for Yuma's Rookie League team in Charlotte Amalie and started this season there as well, but quickly distinguished himself and was promoted to our S A club in Kivalina. The weather change (from Caribbean sunshine to Alaskan wet and cold) was a shock for the youngster, but as he grew more comfortable his pitching improved, so much so that he was named the SS-A Pitcher of the Month for his 4-0 and 0.95 ERA performance in September!

Minor League Hitter of the Year: Ellis Thackwray (A) - .270/.293/.365
A proud Brit, Thackwray was highly effective defensively with a +12.5 ZR and 1.087 EFF on top of his solid offensive numbers. Still coming into his speed a bit he managed to steal 9 bases. All told his efforts were worth 4.3 wins above replacement, leading the team.

Minor League Pitcher of the Year: Jarred Erwin (SSA) - 10-3 / 1.86 ERA / 130.1 IP
An undrafted free agent who was signed to fill gaps in the Wasilla roster, Erwin went on to be the best starter on the team and the only one to break 10 wins.

• Fargo Minor League Hitter of the Year: LF David Castro (AA)

20 yr old David Castro, an international free agent signing during the 2028 season had his breakout season, hitting .252/.303/.532 for a 153 wRC+ in 35 games for A-ball Bismark, and hitting .300/.370/.558 for a 179 wRC+ in 78 games for AA-ball Toronto.

• Fargo Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Ryozo Kono (AAA)

Ryozo Kono has been a while in the Fargo organization, originally signed as an international free agent in 2022. He had a solid season this year in AAA, going 13-5 and 1.89 ERA (164 ERA+) in 25 starts for the Sioux Falls Lakota.

• Crystal Lake Minor League Hitter of the Year: CF Kata 'Claws' Iitsuka (SA) .283/.381/.484 with 32 2Bs with 322 at bats

• Crystal Lake League Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Vincent Orr (SA) ERA of 2.69 in 110.1 innings pitched 108 strikeouts with 55 walks.

Amsterdam:

• Amsterdam Minor League Hitter of the Year: RF Sandor Vis (AA/AAA) - Hit .276 with .403 OBP over AA and AAA prior to earning a call up to the PEBA in mid August to help with the playoff push. Vis then hit .322 against PEBA pitchers the rest of the way.
• Amsterdam League Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Manuel Canales (AA) - Canales was 14-7 with a 3.21 ERA for Den Bosch. He struck out 218 and walked just 26 in 176.2 IP, for a 8.38 K/BB ratio.
