2032 SEASON - MAY

#1 Post by MarcoC »

A small note about the past month

The SA Batters were simply on fire the whole month of April! This resulted in a great beginning of the season, with most of the PEBA supporters, experts and insiders kind of shocked by the great result!

I can’t be happier, really! Every player is just doing exactly what I was hoping for!

1B G.Fernandez has been simply incredible in April (.370/.435/.926) with 8HR, 6Doubles and with an impressive OPS of 1.361 in 54 AB.
What about P.Monnington? the 25 years old rookie is having a great start! He went hitless in the first 5 games of the season, but then he just improved game after game, I can’t ask for more!

Hi everyone,

unfortunately I hurt my left thumb! Don't worry is just a minor injury, I cut myself while cooking, but I will miss just a couple of days!
It's a bit tricky to write an entire recap of the last in-game week, so I'll just write a shorter version!

May 31st , 2032

Subject: Week 8 Notes

Record: 30-17, .638, 1 GB
Position: 2st place (one game behind Florida)
Runs Scored: 236
Runs Allowed: 154
Defense: .725
Power Ranking: 113 (6th in PEBA)
Injury: 2B S.Shimizu, Ruptured Tendon (finger), 3 months

• Last week (3-3): 2-1 vs Hartford, 1-2 at West Virginia
• 05/25: SA 8, CST 4 – 6R in the bottom of the 5th, Aguilera hit a Double, Villanueva hit a 2R double, Coughlan hit a bases cleaning double
• 05/26: SA 5, CST 0 – SP j.Diaz (W) 6.1 IP, 0ER, 4BB, 4K
• 05/27: SA 5, CST 6 (11) – Tied game until the 11th inning, when 1st base G.Leith crushed the ball for a solo home run.
• 05/28: SA 7, WV 2 – SP V.Diaz (W) 7.1IP, 3K, 0BB
• 05/29: SA 2, WV 7 – Despite 7 hit, we just had 2R, in the bottom of the 4th, SA gave up 5R and that inning decided the game! One of the worst day on the mound of SP D.Stockstill
• 05/29: SA 6, WV 7 – WV Scored at least a run in every I except in the 3rd, 5th and 7th inning. Our batters struggled against the Bullpen of WV.
• I’m not going to complain too much about the 2 Loss against WV, they are the best team in the league. Of course, it’s stink, but we all know that baseball is a marathon.
• There’s no doubt we have to make some adjustment before the trading deadline, to make this team a real threat in the post season.
I’m not going to make ANY TRADE before the DRAFT!
• Infielder wizard Tadasuke Suzuki has been a good player so far. If you remember, we acquired him with a trade from SS Evas after S.Shimizu got injured. He did not have any mistake on defense, and he’s 3-11 in 3 game.
• C Randy Howell is a solid backup catcher. He was our starter last season, but with Villanueva doing magic with his bat I can’t give Howell too much time on the field.
• We all miss 2B S.Shimizu, he had an incredible start of the season and I was worried by his (regular) season ending injury. Of course, we all miss his contribution in the lineup, but the other infielders on the team are doing a fantastic job as well: 2B D.Dwyer has a 5 game hitting streak and an impressive 375 OBP. Plus Leland Young in his first 24 days in the majors, despite not showing any impressive numbers, is doing a good job as a backup 2B. and of course 2B T.Suzuki had a good month of may (as we said earlier).
• On Thursday, 3rd of June, we’re going to have the 2032 PEBA Draft
• This week: 3 at Manchester, 3 at Hartford
