Hey guys!
This is our first podcast of the 2031 season, and we start it off with a bang and a whole HOST of hosts!
This episode, we are talking all things Hall of Fame including our illustrious board members waxing poetic about the great careers of the first PEBA hall of famers.
We want to thank YOU for being an integral part of the league by voting for the candidates, writing articles, and just generally being the best, most active OOTP league that exists.

Thanks as always for the podcast guys, that was lots of fun to listen to as I’ve been eagerly awaiting the results of the voting. Will keep my mouth shut for now, but was surprised at the size of the class

Re: PEBA-Cast Episode 21 - The Hall of Fame
Here's the Hancock trade from the 2013 Winter Meetings:
They got Tony Figueroa and Javier Padilla in the 1st and Supplemental rounds. Figueroa was an All-Star and very good player for many years. Padilla was a 5-time All-Star who won 3 consecutive batting titles. Catcher Bob Turley was a 2nd round pick that may have been the result of the Hancock trade (21st in the round), and he was worth something.
However, Tempe's best pick of the draft was a 4th round pick (possibly from Bakersfield?) who had a mediocre high school career. He just changed teams this year as a highly recruited free agent... none other than Kenny Ashley.
The 2014 draft picks that were obtained in the deal are hard to evaluate because I'm not sure which pick was one of the Bakersfield picks. That said, the 2014 draft was a good one for Tempe.BAK-TEM
Tempe receives:
SP Augusto Peralta (AAA)
MR Fernando Pereira (AAA)
MR Louis Craft (AAA)
SP Jamie Salinas (AA)
SP Paul Thompson (AA)
CL José Contreras (AA)
SS Edward Youngberry (AA)
SP David Barton (Hi-A)
CL Leonard Turklington (Hi-A)
1B Tommy Washington (Hi-A)
$4,000,000
Bakersfield's 2nd round draft pick
Bakersfield's 4th round draft pick
Bakersfield's 6th round draft pick
Bakersfield's 8th round draft pick
Bakersfield's 10th round draft pick
Bakersfield receives:
SP Markus Hancock

Doesn't look like Tempe got much out of Ashley when he was there though.

Indeed. He average over 4 BB/9IP for them, but for Havana it was under 2 BB/9IP. Like a completely different guy.

Ashley was the guy Havana could always count on in the post-season. He'll be missed but we just couldn't meet his asking price.
