Canton's Minor League Hitter of the Year:
2B Steve Overgaag (AAA), a 1st round pick in the 2029 PEBA draft out of college, Steve was not off to a hot start in the Canton farm system. 2030 though had Steve find his footing and grow both at the plate and in the field. Locking up the center of the infield, Steve looks to grow into a solid lead off option of the future for Canton with great OBP potential.

Canton's Minor League Pitcher of the Year:
SP Atasuke Inoue (AA), Pitching Coach Tom Larsen is grooming some real solid arms in Youngstown with the squad picking up consecutive Pitcher of the Year honors for Canton. Coming over from a trade with San Juan in 2029, Atasuke showed real promise in his first full season in Canton, throwing 226 Ks, with an ERA of 2.20 and a low WHIP of 0.87. He finished the year with 1 shutout and placed 3rd in the GNL AA ATAL Outstanding Pitcher Award voting.

Statement Released from Warrior Hall: Minor League Players of the year

SP Pedro Gonzalez (AA)

SP Pedro Gonzales led the the GNL in WHIP in 2030 at 0.81 over 180 innings. His ++ changeup is the stuff of legend.

RF Greg Stanley (AA)

Greg Stanley divided his season obliterating pitchers between High A and AA. He led A-Ball in OPS+ before moving up to Medicine Hat and posting a 135 OPS+ for the season.

Maulers Minor League Pitcher of the Year: SP Jamie Moreno (A)

Moreno has three plus pitches and a ton of talent - which is good because he's lazy, stubborn, and a clubhouse cancer.

Maulers Minor League Hitter of the Year: CF Pablo Orocumujica (R)

Similar to Moreno, Orocumujica is disloyal, stubborn, and lazy; but he sure can rake.

Both of this year's award winners are good enough that you tolerate them being complete tools.

San Juan 2030 Minor League Players of the Year

Hitter of the Year
Ippei Ishikawa, Homer (SA), 1B

Ishikawa finished second for the Alaskan League Outstanding Hitter Award after leading the league in homers (24), RBI (73) and WAR (6.2) while posting a .405 OBP. But it was the postseason where he really shined.The 22-year old, 7th round pick in 2029, collected four MVP series awards as Homer fought its way to the Surf and Snow Cup Finals. Homer came up short in five games versus Kauai but Ishikawa’s .375 average and .500 OBP still got him the honors. Overall in 15 postseason games he batted .339, .431, .750 with six home runs.

Defensively he was sound at first base with a 1.053 efficiency rating and a +5.3 ZR, both good for fifth in the Alaskan.


Pitcher of the Year
António Ávila, Kingston (A), RHP

San Juan had quite a few pitching prospects vying for honors this year but the award goes to Ávila who became the first 20-game winner ever in the NAFTA, finishing 20-2, 1.22. He also set the NAFTA record for walks+hits/IP at 0.660.

The 23-year old, a former first rounder in 2026, has an Arthritic elbow that cost him much of 2029 and has never been noted for his velocity (87-89 mph) but this year finally put it together after previously struggling to show much in SA ball (17-24, 3.94).

Outstanding control helped as he walked just 18 batters in nearly 170 innings.

Good out of the gate, he got better as the season went on going 14-1 with a 0.92 e.r.a. in his last 16 starts. He also was the easy winner for the Amber Waves Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Palm Springs Minor League Player Awards 2030

Palm Springs' Minor League Hitter of the Year for 2030, John Martínez, comes out of left field--literally! The Nevada native did not have eye-popping numbers in college with the Cincinnati Unifiers, but Codgers scouts saw something they liked and plucked him in the seventh round of the 2029 amateur draft. Moving up the ranks, 2030 found him in Edmonton, where he became a reliable everyday player for the Mall Ratz despite being one of the youngest players in the league, socking 11 home runs in the process. A natural speedster, he swiped 20 bases and also played excellent outfield defense, garnering the 2030 GNL AA PCAL Glove Wizard Award at left field! Just barely 23, Martínez may stay in Edmonton in 2031 to get a tish more seasoning, but there is no doubt he will be moving up quickly.


Palm Springs' Minor League Pitcher of the Year for 2030 is starter Graham Caswell. The Englishman was drafted by the Codgers only a year ago, in the first round of the 2029 amateur draft, after matriculating at Delft College in the Netherlands, and did so well in Lana'i City, throwing a shutout and being selected to the 2029 Surf and Snow Amalgamation All-Star Game, that he leapfrogged Hi-A entirely and jumped straight to AA for this season. In Edmonton he continued to dominate despite turning just 23 during the season, racking up 146 strikeouts and, for you "eggheads" out there interested in "advanced stats", achieving 4.6 Wins Above Replacement. Caswell will be starting the year in Provo next season and it shouldn't be much longer before he is wearing the salmon and green in Palm Springs.
