Hurley returns - can he bring the goods?

Today the Leones welcomed an old hand back to the clubhouse. 2B Dave Hurley was signed to a 2-year contract worth a total of $5,000,000.
Some fans regard the signing as a waste of resources preferrring to go with a younger face at the pivot. Others point out that the team has a option in year two of the contract and that the younger talent at 2B simply doesn't provide the pop in the lineup that the club needs. They also point to the leadership that Hurley brings to the club. Still another faction says that this is just a kneejerk reaction by the club to the moves the Scottish have been making in this offseason.
Ownership has been very vocal about finding someone to lead this club. Perhaps they've found their man in Hurley. He's a guy that other players look up to. With one of the youngest rosters in the league, the club should benefit from his experience and leadership qualities. What does this mean for 2B Colby Peña? Likely the Leones have been less than impressed with the .199 average he posted last season. Though he did post 13 HR and 63 RBI it may be that the club feels that they want more consistency at the plate from the position. Perhpaps they want time to groom Rodríguez for the spot.
Maybe they simply dig those sideburns!
