Season 23 is now starting as we have moved to OOTP20.

Well I am super happy to bring back Don Mercer, I wasn't thinking I was going to sign him in the beginning, but then I when I got Gonzalez, I had to go all in.

Thank You Greg for getting this thread rolling!!

In the category of Not So Neat: Aurora has had no money to do anything this offseason, so what does our owner do to help us out? He takes more money away by reducing our budget - which he had already reduced at season's end... Bastard... literally... The chair is not my son... :shake:

Mike, what a gut-punch.

I still cannot fathom why the heck Jason Bong would shovel $25 million into this dumpster fire. But I'm counting my blessings.

Sounds like the Aurora ownership is doing a little profit-taking!

I’m actually glad Mercer stayed in the IL - the league should be pretty competitive this season. Maybe one of us can finally dethrone the SL as PEBA champs ...

I really wanted to improve my team this off-season but seem to be unable to entice any of the top free agents. I don't think the guys I landed are going to make a big difference (José 'Box Car' Gonzáles, Robin Baldwin, Tony Figueroa) I am considering making a run at the first-baseman still on the market. But that is a lot of dough!

Yeah didn't have much luck on the market either. I think I need to learn what the "right" lowball is.

Every guy I signed, I paid them more than they wanted this offseason..

Scott, I like the Figueroa signing. I tried getting him back, but you trumped me at last second.

Figuero is going to platoon with Ferringo. They should make for a decent combo at DH. Glad to have that 26th roster spot.

That's not what Ferringo thinks... Platoon-Smlatoon, that's what he thinks!

I can't complain too much, since I did land Barry and Snow ... but ... I have missed on a ton of FA. I was bidding hard for Bonilla (who went to San Juan) and Turton (who went to San Antonio), and I've missed on five relievers so far. Every time I miss on a RP, I go back in ... and miss again. Maybe they've heard bad things about our bullpen catcher ...

Ferringo's OPS against lefties was abysmal last season.

One signing I really liked tonight was the contract that Hartford gave Mark Edwards to comeback. 5/25.5. I looked at him as a replacement for You.

For me? Oh no, you mean for You, don't you? You wit, you!
