Hello Maulers Nation,
The Press got to greet new Manchester Maulers GM Steven Palps as he entered the Team Executive Offices in Manchester, NH today. Palps entered with a wide smile and seem overjoyed with his current role in the organization. He spoke about the challenges on the road ahead, with an expansion team, there is so much at stake. Fan interest ranks highest of all. He stated "We look to be profitable for our owners, and competitive on the field for our great fans. It's a balancing act that will be handled with the utmost attention throughout our off-season and continue into our first season back in the PEBA".
With Manchester's expansion bid accepted and the personnel set in stone, there will also be plenty new Minor League teams for the new General Manager to keep an eye on.
These new teams will be :
AAA Iowa City Kingpins
AA Omaha Insurers
A Portsmouth Dockhands
SA Skagway Prospectors
Palps joked around with the media stating his first order of business was to purchase a luxurious new office chair from IKEA. We laughed as he teased, and even the Official Twitter account for the Maulers made reference to it here (https://twitter.com/PEBAManchester/stat ... 5143105537, You can follow them @PEBAManchester).
With Arbitration negotiations going on, and a potential move to acquire a former PEBA champion, and 4-time All-Star Pitcher, there is plenty of excitement for the expansion squad to hit the field.
I will keep you all posted on the latest grumblings throughout the organization as they come about.
