Don't feel bad. I got the vibe that they both tried really hard not to say, "WTF was Reno thinking drafting that all 'D' no stick SS so early in the first round?!?!?!"Featherheads wrote:torcall's doing great! I think we mentioned we could have done literally hours of podcast just talking about the draft. We had to have a cut-off point. Top 10 made sense. There was no sleeping on himBureaucrats wrote:I know you didn't talk about the picks after the 10th, but y'all sleeping on Torcall Penrose. The kid is stellar and was immediately rushed to AAA. But look at those stats!
It made me second guess my drafting here AGAIN! But F-It, I enjoyed the podcast yet again so.... Rock On GUYS!

My scout loved Shane Bowman and I would've been more than happy to draft him at #8 where you got him.
Penrose has a .205 BABIP against him, which is unsustainably low. Ernesto Martinez is at .149. I've always felt that there is some skill to that stat that separates major leaguers from guys like me, but when you get to the majors, the difference in that skill is pretty small if measurable at all. Still the results those guys have are pretty good so far.
These podcasts are great... keep them coming!

also... I'm apparently terrible at divining future talent. I said Duane Moss would have two starts (he had one) in which he gave up no runs and minimal hits. Here's his line from last week.
Cool, Duane. Way to throw me under the bus.
Edit: I updated so you can see what his stats were. It was... not great.

The media made a claim and then a player went out and made that claim look stupid? I'm shocked!

Maybe we should work on getting an actual logo for them.
