The Horror ...

Excuse my existential scream of despair ...

Francisco Robles, my staff ace, went down for the season in tonight’s sim ...
Jorge Vázquez, my No. 3 starter, as we all know is out for the season because he hurt himself pitching on one day of rest ...
Ernest Singleton, the guy I brought up to replace Vázquez, pitched very well in his first game ... and is now out for at least three weeks with forearm inflammation.
Kazuhiko Nishiyama, my No. 4 starter, started a 10 day rehab assignment in AAA, and is still listed as day to day, moderate for two to three weeks. No clue when he’ll be available again.
José Guillén, my best hitter, is on the shelf for at least another week.

In the good news, I hired a new pitching coach. Now, if he only had a staff to work with ...

Thankfully, I’m not bitter.

The old folklore always was that OOTP picked one team each season to absolutely decimate with injuries....it looks like for 2028 that team might be the Claymores. :-x

Yeah, I've got a bad feeling that'll end his career with the Scottish. He'll be 38 next year coming off a major shoulder injury. Just for the heck of it, I checked to see what he'd be looking for in an extension and it was $22 million a year for four years ... um, no. Maybe his price will come down, but anything remotely close to that is just insane.

Hate to see that happen to any team, but especially with one that was really responding well to being managed well.

As you said Vic, there's 'itching injuries' everywhere. We have to either tone down the injuries or increase the pool of anywhere near halfway decent replacement pitchers to sign. It was different in the MLB, whenever one of their pitchers went down there was always a pitcher in triple-A ready to come up and do a job but these days in the PEBA there doesn't seem the amount of pitchers in triple-A that could fill-in in the bigs without getting completely shelled.

Yeah, even the scrubs I call up to fill in for the injuries are getting injured!
