My scout's opinion of Mendoza has taken a dip since drafting him in the 1st round this past season. He's still going to be a good player but I saw an opportunity to deal him and my extra late 2nd round pick for a proven pitcher. Norris is part of a star-studded staff which saw him relegated to a reliever/AAA starter. With Bill Courtney moving to the pen due to regression and an injury prone rotation, Norris comes in as a much needed, recently, healthy pitcher with skill.

Thank for the trade I confirm. Norris was going to be a long-term part of the team. When a deal is offered you have to weight those options and it was too good to say no. Norris did spend time in AAA but that was only because I ran out of roster space and he was willing to go. This deal will open a hole for me to fill but gives me a start at building a farm for the future.
