That was the crazy contract in my eyes. At least Mercer has a track record that one can count on. When Provost got his monster deal, he had already won 4 Golden Arms (and since won another and finished second to his teammate). Top pitching is tough to come by and did not see any comparable talent out there next season. Even given the lack of movement, he's a ground ball pitcher, so I'm not as worried. I'm projecting him to be one step below Nitro. I trust my new scout formerly of Florida... I have my other top talent locked in at reasonable prices, so had the salary room to spare in the staff for future seasons.
