That is much better news :)
I am sure we have markets worth 1 Billion or more.

If we base the figures on gross revenue, Aurora had a revenue of $263M last season which was the top revenue. The Padres had revenue of $259M and Pirates $265M in 2016. Forbes estimated the value of the Padres at $1.1Billion and Pirates at $1.2Billion.Commish wrote:I am curious what a PEBA club goes for these days.
Of course there are other variables like the value of the stadium and brand to consider. Gross revenue would likely be around 1/3 to 40% of the value of a team.
Check out this list.

I think we need to negotiate a better media deal!

Aurora long ago purchased their not-so-cozy (anymore) park on Cherry Lake long ago... and our National sales of caps and jersey's...Sandgnats wrote:Commish wrote:If we base the figures on gross revenue, Aurora had a revenue of $263M last season which was the top revenue. I totally forgot the trade for Field - Nice call Mike...
Oh, and BTW - Trade Tally and the Trade Pick forum are up to date - cross check, please, in case something slipped through the ether...

At least my owner is delighted to buy into the PEBA. Hopefully keeps him off my back with lean years ahead.

Make sure you are also hiring staff in the off-season. There are a few teams without personnel or with some expiring. With all of the free agent madness, coaches can easily slip your fingers.

Big time commitments in SS this sim. 3B Christian Webb gets $100M/4 and C German Hernandez gets $60/3.
Steep prices to pay, but their production is essentially un-replaceable. Neither is signed past age 32, so hopefully these deals don't turn in to complete lodestones.
I would have liked to have front-loaded the deals, but leveraging their last arbitration years in each deal made the contracts manageable.
I'll be very eager to see how the great new rules affect Free Agency.

Looks like there was an issue with my trade that was processed this sim. Paul Norris was added to my team, then was not offered arbitration a day later and became a free agent.

Oops...
Just for 2¢ worth of conversation - does a pending extension offer get deleted when a player is released into the FA pool? I had one out on a player - and now he's a FA and I have no indication if he declined or if it was a glitch...
And...
As a side note folks - be sure to check the Traded Picks forum as you are working the Trade Line - don't build a trade on picks that you've already shipped elsewhere... The thread is up to date...

To add insult to injury in the Norris situation, his arb estimate was $3,800,000 and now he’s asking double that in FA. So I can’t just sign him and be done with it.

Ooh, I know, I know! The answer is: Yes, the pending offer gets deleted the moment the player enters the free agent pool. As I see it, it's like the guy is "ghosting" you. Which, incidentally ... rude!Borealis wrote:Just for 2¢ worth of conversation - does a pending extension offer get deleted when a player is released into the FA pool?
