Tony Velazquez also strikes out on a 100 mph blast! Two K's already for Cuellar!

Middle of 8th: IL 2 - SL 1

Go Tony!!!

The bottom of the 8th, and Ruben Hernandez comes in to pitch for the IL.

Alex Bothwell hits a huge popup in the infield... he is out.

Matsusuke Hamada does the exact same thing, a popup in foul ground. Again, Francis catches it for the out.

Dave Petersen is brought in as the new DH. He hits the 0-1 pitch to left-center. Carlos Ryan sprints but can't reach it. Base hit for Petersen.

Ramon Leach is up. He hits one to right field, directly to Pat Barry who gloves it for the out.

The 9th inning, coming up!

End of 8th: IL 2 - SL 1

The Sovereign League take the field for the 9th inning, and Raul Cruz will be the pitcher.

Danny Burton pops up to left field ... Lopez catches it for the out.

Jack Collins enters the game as the new catcher. He hits the 0-2 pitch to third. Hamada grabs it, bobbles it for a moment, throws to first.... OUT! The ball got there JUST in time!

Scotland's Tony Brown will now go up to the plate. He hits a grounder to first. Bothwell picks it up, and lobs it to Cruz covering the bag.

Middle of 9th: IL 2 - SL 1

Last chance for the SL to make a move! The pitcher for the IL in the bottom of the ninth is Ricardo Perez; Havana's regular closer.

Theron Boswell is at bat. He swings and misses on a tough sinker. Perez gets his first K of the evening.

King Bailey shoots one into right-center field! Burton running after it but can't get there! It's a base hit! Bailey heads for second. He slides... SAFE! A double by King Bailey!

Jesus Lopez at the plate. Runner at second, one out. He hits it to second. The throw to first.. OUT! King Bailey makes it to third! There are now two out.

Danny Burke is the batter. A circle change way off the mark! Wild pitch! Francis chases after it... King Bailey scores to tie the game!

Perez redeems himself by striking out Burke, but the SL has clawed their way back! We are heading for extra innings! The game is tied!

End of 9th: IL 2 - SL 2

Joshua Hall will be on the mound for SL in the top of the 10th! This year, he has saved 19 of his 20 opportunities.

Luis Cedeno at bat. He strikes out on a high fastball!

Carlos Ryan gets a full count. Low, ball four!

Scott Francis pops up to center field. King Bailey makes the catch. Two out.

Dwight Carver hits a grounder back to the pitcher. Hall throws to first for the out.

Middle of 10th: IL 2 - SL 2

Ricardo Perez remains on the mound for the IL.

Felipe Dias hits it to center field, Ryan catches it.

Alex Bothwell hits a hard grounder to the right side. Cedeno picks it up... and bobbles it! Bothwell is safe!

Masusuke Hamada hits a similar grounder, this time closer to first. Diaz dives to pick it up, throw to first.... SAFE! Runners are now on first and second with 1 out.

Dave Petersen hits a very soft grounder, rolling up the 1B line, only a few feet upstream from the plate. Diaz runs down but has a tough play, the throw to first... SAFE! The bases are now loaded!

Ramon Leach smacks an 0-2 pitch to right field! Burton makes the catch! HERE COMES BOTHWELL TAGGING UP, Burton fires home! Bothwell dives headfirst ... SAFE! BOTHWELL IS SAFE! The Sovereign League complete the comeback and win the game in extra innings!!

Nice, and good showing for the Bears. Littleworth and Hall pitching shutout innings with Hall getting the Win. And Bailey doubling and scoring the tying run in the 9th!
