Reading through the forums it seems to me that there are a lot of updated trade blocks. Seems to be a lot of angst so early in the season. Looking at the peformances of my two idiot catchers I can understand the sentiment. :-P

There's nothing quite like watching your top Closer prospect come in during the 9th and pitch 8 innings for the win...

8-o 8-o 8-o

Now there's a line that will simultaneously raise a player's stock and get his manager canned.

I realize that scouts are not infallible and players can perform well in the minors and never break through to the top level but, guys like Ben Daniels intrigue me. He was a 4th round pick and my scout says "Simply hopeless at the plate....as close to an automatic out as you can get." Yet, all the guy does is hit. He is 22 years old, playing well in Double-A and sports a 130 OPS+. Even when you include all his stats back to high school he still has pretty solid numbers (113 OPS+ in 1300 PA) for a guy that "is an automatic out."

I played a solo league where I won two World Series with a guy at shortstop that the scouts never came around to my way of thinking on. I also sometimes wonder if a low work ethic guy turns some scouts to sour on him across the board as well.

Seaboard Division power! When your worst team has a .581 winning percentage and almost everybody is on a winning streak of at least seven games, you're doing all right. 8)

I don't want to jinx anything, but we are definitely doing better than expected! That being said, I did just lose 2 players to injury this past sim, so hopefully we don't come apart too fast

Yep, the Seaboard had a really good offseason. West Virgina and Canton alone spent nearly a third of a Billion dollars on bringing new major league talent into the organizations. That's billion with a B.

After what seems like months (it actually has been lol), Angel Cortez has finally signed a 1 year deal to come back to West Virginia.

I was just about to post that I love that deal for $4M. He is worth that as a platoon hitter alone. Nice move.

I cannot believe I swept Arlington and Florida on the road. Faced three 20-game winners and a 17-game winner in a four game stretch there too. My team might be good. Team effort mostly Ju-Chan Park hitting .206 but has won two games in the 10th inning so far.
