Don't we have a monetary cost to adding seats to our parks?

We used to. I am honestly not sure if we still do.

This came up last year as well.

1000 seats cost 20 CP and one article. You can purchase a maximum of 10,000 seats in a season.

Well this is where the old "ballpark funds" account thing had kicked in, per the original constitution there were construction costs that where assessed when adding seats and that was taken from the ballpark funds. It looks like there are "construction costs" still associated with most ballpark improvements in the updated constitution section by Nigel, but monetary costs associated with additional seats are absent and only the CP charge is in the rules there.

Why did (would) we eliminate the financial cost for expanding our stadiums - something that will make a difference (hopefully)? Yet it costs money to send my minor leaguer to winter ball to maybe make a difference? When did this happen, because I know last year we were paying out of the discretionary fund (first, then actual cash), before those funds evaporated (which was too bad - I personally thought it was a great idea). One can add 10,000 seats to their stadium for simply exporting every sim (approx - I don't know the exact number off the top of my head, but you get the idea)?

I know we went through the whole 'competitive balance' thing recently, but shouldn't their be some 'earning' that benefit? I don't recall the conversation regarding this change (or if there was), but that just doesn't feel right to me...

Just my 2¢...

That said - sounds like scaffolding is going up on the Front Range...

EDIT:
OK... Just went back and looked, and yes, no $$ last year - though my thoughts (and argument remain). I was going to max out last year, and now I remember my Winter Ball snafu and didn't go back to maxing out... Not such a big deal now... in a few seasons we'll all be playing in mausoleums! (sp.)

Surely though Mike you are 'earning' the reward of seats by exporting enough to gain the 20 CP's? You are being active in the league and therefore earning some reward. The monetary cost was removed so that cash strapped teams wouldn't ignore rewards that would at least bring some actual reward (if they filled the seats)
