Next week. The groundwork is being laid right now, however. It's surprising how much goes into something like this! All the feeders get affected, for instance. A lot of work, but actually pretty fun. :D

In other words, there is NOTHING new and exciting this sim and it is pointless for me to wait up for it.

I didn't pay that much attention to WB since I wasn't going to risk what CPs I had left, but if an owner chooses WB for a player, the owner gets to sign off after the "results" or they can choose to get their CPs back?

I'll have to look at WB for next season, then, I guess.

Gentlemen, welcome to 2008!

Tonight's update is ready to go. No picture pack this time. Once again, Winter Ball improvements are NOT implemented! My last promise didn't go so well, but I much more confident that they will be ready for Friday. The good news is the wait will be worth it: several categories will be getting a bump in potency as part of the review!

You'll find that SISA has re-scouted every player in the league. Take a look at your player histories to get updates on what they think of them right now!

EDIT: In answer to the Hitmen's question, WB results will be final. There's a delicate balance to strike to make sure that the improvements are beneficial without being overpowering. There are three of us reviewing the results for each player. Implementation won't occur until all three of us are satisfied.

Jesus Luna to Yamato.

Hard to compete with a team that can sign him for almost $15 Mil per year and is now almost $14 Mil per year over budget.

Yes, PEBA sighs in disgust as the 2 marquee pitching free agents jump ship to Japan. Verdon and Luna are now gone. :-P
Luna signed a long contract for 7 years I think

Wow! The Yamato Battleships signed both Luna & Yoshihada Rin in the last 2 months for about $15 M per year-each!

and here's Verdon

Japan has the cash apparently. Save your pennies boys so we can give the LRS a run for their money next year in the free agent market.

Indeed Yamato made a splash signing Luna and Rin. Not that I'm terribly impressed with their moves. Take a look at their Player Salaries report. Those two pitchers are taking up 75% of the team's total payroll, and with the Luna signing Yamato has maxed out their budget (no more cash to allow them to deficit spend). So while you've got to figure they'll be have a great 1-2 punch in the rotation, with only one hitter making over $1M we'll just see how quickly the Battleships sink. :P

Regarding LRS teams overall, only 4 PEBA players of any note (and only 2 players that could possibly be called "stars") have made the trip East. And this is just season one; as play progresses, the intelligent (?) human owners of PEBA will begin to distance themselves financially from the imbecilic AI GMs of the LRS. You need only look at Yamato's mismanagement to see an example of this - they won't be stealing significant PEBA players for a looooong time to come. So while I'm sorry to see "Dog" Verdon and "Evil Ways" Luna part company with us, I'm positive that this trend will not only slow but actually reverse itself in short order.

I want a big payroll! Anyone want to donate to the poor fishermen fund for orphaned free agents?
