Not ranking in terms of absolute performance, but big-picture effect on the franchise:

Offense: SS Jose Ramirez (AA/AAA)
The 19-year mega-prospect split the season between AA and AAA. His combined season totals were .289/.348/.369, and while those are not eye-popping numbers, remember that he is a nineteen-year old in AAA. His defense is already All-Leather level. I am eagerly awaiting the day when I must make a decision about him, as he is blocked by superstars George Riley and Tom Kirkland, both of whom are signed long-term.

Pitching: SP Santiago Sanchez ('08 draft pick, SS-A, A, AA)
Sanchez rocketed up the organizational ladder, making two starts in AA to end the year. Season totals in pro ball: 7-4, 1.92 ERA. I currently expect him in the Coal Sox rotation by 2010.

What does this guy have to prove to get the starting major league job?

Maybe bat .350 in AAA next year.

By the way in half a year at A last year, he batted .349.
