I was searching on OOTP for this very issue and came across the posts where you posted your decision over there.
I can't make my position any more clearly than my emails from earlier today. Maybe I'm the only owner who cares about this issue, but I guess everything is open to the free market now then.
Thanks for the heads up.

We're a free market league.
I'm sure John will elaborate when he gets a chance, sounds like later this weekend maybe.
Please note I am not upset at anyone. I just now know under which parameters PEBA operates, and can adjust my team strategy accordingly. When I saw the rules against signing extensions for players of a certain age buying out FA years for under certain amounts, I wasn't sure. But now I know, so I can plan my FA approach differently.

I'm not going to elaborate much on this at the moment. As I mentioned in my announcement thread, I'll have more details on Friday when I have time to send out a mailing. I'll ask for your patience until then. There are some behind-the-scenes changes planned that may go a distance to rendering this whole issue moot anyway.
In the meantime, I'd like to remind people of a quote by Abraham Lincoln: "You can't please all of the people all of the time." This is a situation where there was absolutely no chance that everyone would walk away happy. And in fact, I myself am not getting my way - I personally view the situation similarly to the Hitmen.
Whenever a situation that needs attention arises, I make it a point to gather as much information as I can and listen to as many different points of view as I can before making a decision. I did that here, and at the end of the day the overwhelming sentiment was that enacting out-of-game rules to combat multi-year free agent contracts was not the way to go. So rather than do that, I will ask owners to adjust to the system while at the same time working to find an in-game solution that will minimize the chances of these deals impacting the landscape.

Again, this isn't an attack on the people involved, just the situation and decision. I completely disagree with the decision (at least as I understand it from the OOTP post).
But I will certainly play under those rules as I think they give my team a distinct advantage right now and in the future. I think it's bad for the overall league competitiveness, but I don't want the Hitmen to be left behind either.
