I confirm. Now for later type of deal. I've decided to go into complete rebuild mode. Looking for prospects that will help 3-4 years down the road.

The chance to add Kichida to the pen was eventually deemed worth giving up the best SS prospect in the league. We'll see whether it works out or not. Our pen has been pretty good, really.

I also really like next years draft class so adding a first round pick was also good. OF Masakado 'Stubblebeard' Kato is hands down the best prospect in the draft class, so dealing some pieces and losing a few games this year isn't exactly a bad idea. Especially considering there is no real point in trying to compete with SS in our division. As I look at Kevin's team though, his run may be coming to an end when my young guys are about to take off. But who knows?

Kevin's run never comes to an end, as you shall see.

This is a real block buster. Three really good players moved and a high pick. I like it for both sides. Lupin is starting to look very dangerous. I'm a big fan of both Kichida and Koyama.

Nice for HYA too, as premium SS prospects are very very rare. Add a 1st rounder never hurts either, even if it will be a lower 1st.

As for the end of my run? Well not if I have anything to say about it.

The one thing that distinguishes the Eva Empire is precisely that there is no end of the run. They know how to fuel the farm while still fielding a contender. It is a constant balancing act that Kevin manages nicely through attention to detail and astute trading. Is is the one thing I feel very clueless about -- but that is probably true of most real life MLB GMs also, so I don't feel bad. Most GMs I read about seem to view things either as trade-the-farm-to-contend or trade-the-stars-to-rebuild.

Were it not for the wild card, the SSG would be a boring place indeed  .
