San Antonio receives:
3B Thom Wright (AAA)
Palm Springs receives:
SP Juan Árias
I hate to deal away a prospect, but we are pretty strong infield-wise, and our pitching staff has seemingly a million holes to fill. As always Matt was an excellent trading partner.

Re: Trade between PS and SA
Confirmed by San Antonio.
Many thanks to Denny for the fruitful negotations. We were in a similiar position as Palm Springs, in our case we hated to move pitching. But it's an area where we had accumulated some depth in the rotation, and confidence has grown in guys like Gonzalez and Flores and we need to get them into the rotation to stay. Wright is a guy I like quite a bit, good defense, power. He's young and hopefully he and Keller can form a double play combination in the middle for us for the next five years. He'll go to AAA for now, he still has a little growing to do, but there is a spot waiting for him, most likely at 2b, by September.
Arias has been assigned to DFA. Please place Wright at AAA Joplin, playing 2b and batting 5th in both lineups, and in the open 5th hole slots in the 7 day lineups. Thanks.

Re: Trade between PS and SA
I have put Wright on DFA as well. Please assign Árias to my #2 starter's spot at Palm Springs.
I'm a little nervous about Árias given his age and the length of his contract, but he has been very consistent over his career thus far, so hopefully he is one of those fellows who keeps his edge well into his thirties and can form part of the core of our rotation for several years.
