How 'bout them Tigers

#1 Post by Hitmen »

As a Yankees fan, I have to say, it's nice to see another "can't miss" high payroll team struggle.

Not that I enjoy others' misfortunes.

Like some GMs who wish plagues upon their opponents.

Just sayin'.

I agree with this sentiment. It's nice to see that money can't always buy you instant success in baseball. Not that I expect the Tigers to stay down for long, mind you, but it was a bit tiresome to hear every analyst on the planet claiming loudly that the Tigers would win because of all the money they spent while the Tribe was in trouble because they stayed put with a middle-of-the-pack team salary. I'm happier to see a team like Kansas City experiencing success based largely off players they drafted (Grienke, Butler, Gordon, etc.). Good for them! Good baseball sense can and will trump deep pockets.

How about a KC wildcard and a Tampa Bay AL East championship?

Even as a Yankee fan, I could appreciate that. It means the Red Sox would be out too.
